Hehehe  he does sound weird. By his voice, I thought he was like 5'1 or something, but he's actually 5'6.. not as short as I thought. Wow, yeah, he's my hero too. I wonder why his twin isn't as great, though.[/b]Quote:

Okay, who saw what PAUL HAMM did in gymnastics????????????????? That is.. wow.. he must be from another planet, because that's humanly impossible!!!!
(Um, I'm a little over-excited.) :P
ME TOO! I was jumping up and down for him. I cannot believe he was able to come back and win gold after falling on his ass. He's my hero. Too bad he sounds like a munchkin.
I've noticed that some gymnanists have nasel voices... so it stunts your growth and screws up your voice too??
Ok here's todays.

Meh, gymnastics itself doesn't stunt growth.. I think that's precisely why a lot of them went into gymnastics. If you're really short to begin with, might as well take advantage! :-PQuote:

That Russian gymnast, though, Svetlana Something.. she's pretty tall. And she looks very anorexic too! I thought she'd break a few bones during her routines.
Oh, anyone know if Ian Thorpe will have any more events?
Thanks for the updates, Evanescent! :D
I don't know about ian thorpe but as you might already know phelps is giving up a race for crocker and racing him for a different one i think. I am not for sure about this but thats what i collected. Did you see the US smoke everyone else in the 4x100 relay. Not even a race for them all the other countries were panting and wore out. It was quite fun to watch.
Yeah, I saw that one! Impressive! :D What sort of things will be on next week, do ya know? Oh, and I'm a bit confused with gymnastics.. I thought that was done, but apparently it isn't... ?
Population America : 293,027,571
Population Holland : 16,318,199
country: Gold Silver Bronze Total
America: 19 || 14 || 12 || 45
Holland: 3 || 5 || 5 || 13
If we were bigger, we sure would kick USA's ass :P
If you want to base it mathematically. But i seriously doubt holland's got what it takes, and if you didn't notice countries like russia and china have a bigger population and aren't beating us.
China is 2nd and Russia is 9th. That isn't low. But you're right: more people doesn't have to mean more medals.Quote:

quality>quantity i suppose....
True but not always, quanity assures more quality but thats only too a certain point.
EY! My country took our first gold medal today! :D Karolina Klüft is her name and hepathlon is her sport and she rock! Do you foreigners know about her??
Uhh no but...if she got a gold then thats great. What was her time do you know??
hepathlon? What is that????
 well... its... i think its seven "parts", for example javelin-throwing, lenght-jump and 800 m running. you get points for each part and the one with most points wins. capische m8?Quote:

(and no I dont know her time since its seven different parts ;) )
Hey, cool for her. :D
My favorite people in these games are Paul Hamm, Michael Phelps (although man, they talk about him too much), Ian Thorpe, and Pieter van den Hoogenband.. so, I'm pretty familiar with the foreigners as well as the people from my country. (CountrIES.. Russia and America. Woot.)
Ooh, I like that other guy too.. Aaron Pie..rcol.. or something. Yeah. Yay, go swimmers! :P
well congrats to her for winning the gold medal for that :D
I dont really follow the olympics much. How many medals does my country have now? (Netherlands) Dunno..
Right now the netherland are no. 13 in the medal list. They have 3 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze, so they are doing very well.Quote:

So what do you guys think? Should Paul Hamm give up the gold to that Korean guy or what?! What a total disappointment for him...I guess he's really pissed. And go figure that one of the judges that misscored the Korean was American. Poor Hammy.
Read this artible, Hamm Should Give Up the Gold...it makes alot of sense I think.

He should. He's acting like a two-year old.
Pieter van den Hoogenband, how cool, you actually spelled his name wright! :DQuote:

Go
@CT: Spreek je Nederlands? If you can't read that, never mind :)
It wasn't his fault, so it really isn't wrong if he decides to keep it. His athletic ability is in no doubt. He is, however, acting like a little bitch about it.Quote:

I think the Koreans should just stop acting like a pack of rabbid wolves and let Hamm have his medal. I mean, look at the comeback he made!! That was amazing. And I don't think Hamm's acting like a bitch about it either.. this really isn't something that's easy to decide. For us it might be, but just put yourself in his shoes for one second.
I voted "yes" though.. for poor America's sake, I think he should do it. Or the Olympics could bend a few rules and give them both a gold medal. By the way, how's that Korean dude responding to this?
No country/competitor should be blamed here.. only the judges. And even THEY shouldn't get too much blame, because they are only human.
Arrr, I'm so sick of all the countries having "ill will" toward America. This world is doomed.
I think that it really would have been the best for everyone if he did turn over that medal. He'd be a hero everywhere. But I also understand why he wouldn't want to.
They should give them both a gold medal, that what they did last Winter Olympics for the Russian figure skaters right?
Woah that's not right. How did Paul just get a silver on high bar with that routine.
