      what happened?

Ok i can do this alot. Anyway, i think i caught myself before i lost concsiousness. I'll give a time when i was at work.

I just finished a 7 hour shift, was tired as hell, i sat down on the chair in the lunchroom waiting for my time to leave to catch the bus, i rest my eyes sitting on the chair and something weird happened. It's as if i caught myself about to lose concsiousness just before it happened, i mean JUST. There are tiems when you can feel yourself kind of go but not quite, this was just....BAM! extremly fast. I was getting deeper and deeper into sleeping, i felt as if everything just "faded" away, and there was nothing, i was not there, i was nothing, it was like a big void of emptyness. Just before it happened completly i jolted up, and while i felt as if it was empty, i knew i had to wake up or i would fall asleep. It's SO BLOODY QUICK!!!!!! and i could not hear anything in my surrounding when this happened. It's weird because as i said, it was as if everything faded away, i was in a big empty void, i was not there anymore yet i knew i had to open up and get up before i fell asleep. Confusing to think about....it's like an oxymoron. Anyway like i said, i can do this alot. Even when i am tired and want to sleep this wont happen, only when i seem to be all calm and tired. Feel the feeling of losing myself completly into dreamland which makes you think, why would everything just fade away? it's just memories you are going to. Should happen just like that, without the feeling of being disconnected from everything you know.

Figured i would post this here....not an LD, not a dream, not religious, not new age stuff.

Meditation is not new age stuff.

I would give you the old age stuff, though you might disregard the m-wordbomb I used.

Your body has certain mechanisms. If you are aware enough, and in the moment, you may catch them.
It gets easier, like learning to ride a bike.

EDIT: Similarly, sneezing and extreme adrenaline-rushes. Also great contrasts between motion and 'non-motion'.

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Had a similar situation. about 3 years ago, I was sitting at the dining table, waiting to be served. I was dead tired, so I rested my eyes for a while. Almost instantly, I slipped into sleep (While sitting up!) In the dream, I was exactly where I was where I was sitting before I fell asleep. The dream seemed perfectly normal, except whenever my siblings or my parents spoke, it came out really loud, as if they were yelling at me. Everyone's faces were distorted as well, I then promptly woke with a start.

Dunno if this was a hallucination because of sleep deprivation, or a dream, or a mixture of both.
Question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
      Answer: Neither, single-celled organisms did.

Nah i never saw nothing, i was nothing, there was nothing. No sounds, no physical objects, no colors, no existance except i felt myself in the non existance. I was in between sleep and real time. It's hard to explain, let alone feel. One of the weirdest things i have felt and it's happened on several occasions, and always the same. What i felt seemed real, probably something flowing through my brain making it seem real. All i knew was i was not here yet i could feel myself here, and i could hear myself tell me to wake up, i had to wake up, so i woke up. I woke up and was like 'wow", i guess i expieriences a glimpse of nothingness, or what i thought it was. There was no dream at all, there was nothing at all, just my voice, and my will to wake up so i don't fall asleep.
