Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
If you mean "love" in the romantic sense, I believe it somewhat. You can't control who you fall in love with, so I think it may have something to do with the chemicals in your body conspiring against you. On the other hand, I would like to believe that love is something more than just raging hormones and messed up physical chemistry. But as of yet, I haven't really seen any proof. |

so can love be defined by 'wanting the highest good for yourself and others' |

I do not think that love can be defined as one thing or have a set definiton. everyone has their own definition for love and the feelings associated with it. then there are some people who would probably never hold anyones life in higher regard than their own. It really comes down to the perspecive of the individual, what does the person feel love is? what would they be willing to give in the pursuit of their feelings etc. |

There was a thread somewhere here about the different types of love. The greeks had four or five names for it covering the whole spectrum from |

I gues it really goes depend on your perspective on it all..and also what you went trough. I suppose that Lost Soul as given up on love in away because she has experienced some bad things in a relationship. And I myself think its great because my relationship means everything to me. And I gues it also depends on your personality, some people just wanna be free and have sex and flirt with whoever they want. Others want one special somebody. Some people prefer going out and meet many people, others prefer staying in for a cuddle night with his/her lover |
