I am upset because he is perpetrating a broken system. 2 million dollars for 24 songs?! What the fuck is that?

The system is not broken. If the majority of citizens feel strongly enough and can convince congress and the supreme court a law is unjust, it can be overturned. Until then, government including those at the highest levels are obligated to uphold the current laws.

CC, I bet if you were to release a new plantimum album, you would be arguing the opposite side of the issue right now.

The criminals are the ones wearing business suits. Piracy is good for music. The purpose of albums was never to make money, it was to promote a band or artist. Bands make money from playing gigs.

Digital is the new medium for albums. You aren't taking anything away from an artist when you download a digital copy of their work. Your actually giving them something, your time and a chance. If you haven't ever given an artist a chance, a listen, how likely are you to pay over $10 to see them live? Piracy is just a new method of promotion. Artists are losing pennies and gaining a new avenue for promotion that doesn't rely on record companies, which is extremely valuable.

The RIAA represents the parasites of human culture. I say it's time we got rid of these parisites, and that's exactly what piracy is doing.
