You can use USB, it just sucks loads and loads. I can't remember how the guy set up my modem. Thankfully I switched to the ethernet RJ-45s. |

A new computer!
Well... I'm getting a new computer soon. At least new for me, it is my Dad's old one and he is getting a new one. This rules because his is a lot better and mine is a peice of crap. Now all I need is cable *plots* (I can't get cable where I live actually, I have USB).
Anyways, I'm really happy. Yay!

you cant have cable, so you have USB... Right.
Its not with what kind of cable your computer connects to your modem you know.... you probably have DSL then since you say you cant get cable... but whats wrong with DSL, its broadband too. If you think its to slow upgrade your DSL.

By the way, the switch was about 2 years ago, so...I'm not that sure of what was involved. I do remember a USB wire and a cable modem, though.

well, I just got a new computer too (SO happy about that) and, having cable modem installed in my mother's computer, I had to make the second connection myself. The modem itself had to ways in which it could be connected, via ethernet and via USB. So basically what I did was connect my mother's with usb(since she wanted the modem to remain in her computer and you can't get a 20m USB cable, as far as I am concerned) and then I connected mine with ethernet wire. Both are just as efficient, as far as I can tell, and the cable company did say that they should both work just as well.
P.S. I'm posting pics of my new comp tomorrow...I am that excited with itIf I hadn't made me

well, it was 2 days instead of 1, but the "view your posts" option was down, and I just can't surf DV without it

Kinda like my computer except I'm running a 2800 XP...and the hard drive seen some less...hmm...'used up' days
(new drive is always a nice thing to have).

I'd say Truth's would be about 1200+ in terms of cost. Just a rough estimate. That processor makes for much of the cost though. Getting a 800 bus would have skyrocketed that though...
