to all of those who use GIMP, if i have an image file loaded in, how do i apply a shade of color to it? Like if i want to put a blunt tint/shade over the image, but still be able to see the image clearly

Like if i want to put a blunt tint/shade over the image, but still be able to see the image clearly I don't use GIMP, but I would assume you want to create a new layer above the image, and fill it with the color you want. Then change the overlay type to whatever looks best and mess with the Opacity settings. Since this thread is here, how do I make a .gif? To make a .gif, you need images to be used as frames. Like frames taken from a certain part of a movie or something. You would need to find a .gif maker. I would recommend ImageShack (Photoshop) to make .gifs as it comes with an optimizer.
