We have a guy here who basically did the same, by the name of Rene Rivkin. He was a big dealer (by Australian standards) and stockbrokered fro all our big names etc for over a decade, and as a result became very, very rich. With his money grew a huge ego and he became very self centred (this is coming from a documentary made on how his family was affected). He started doing insider trading etc, and was brought before a court, and the whole time expected that he would get off free beause of his money and sucess.
He got a rude shock when he found out that he was going to be sent to jail for breaking the law, just like everybody else, and then went on all those interview programs on tv claiming that he shouldn't be sent to jail for breaking the law, but unlucky for him there's nothing Australian's hate more than a rich bastard, and he went to jail anyways. Upon getting to jail (minimum-security, weekend jail) he had a 'breakdown' and had to be rushed to hospital at taxpayers expense because apparently he could not handle the trauma of being detained every weeked.
This really pissed me off, like big time. People kicking up a stink because they dont want to go to jail... just wrong. The basis of our society is that everybody is equal, but it seems that some people are more equal than others.
