I just went out and bought some Vitamin B6 after reading some posts.

However, i hear it being referred to as pyridoxine, and mine says pyridoxine hydrochloride...
Do i have the right thing?
It's uses are mentioned as for like PMS relief, and lots of female pregnancy stuff.
On the fron it says Vitam B6 50 mg.
Any insight?

Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6)
Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is an essential vitamin to aid in the formation of healthy red blood cells and supports more vital bodily functions than any other vitamin. A water-soluble vitamin, Vitamin B6 is needed to release energy from the food we eat. Since it cannot be stored in the body, it must be obtained daily from either food or supplements.

Yes, you have the "right thing".

Just so you know: The reccomended min. daily intake of B6 is around 2mg. It's all you need. So, if you're taking 50mg, essentially you're taking 25 times what you should be taking for just dietary purposes. In the larger quantities like 50 or 100mg, essentially you're taking way more B6 than you need for just dietary purposes - B6 in such large quantities is used for a short period of time by women suffering from PMS to alleviate symptoms. Though it's only in these larger amounts that B6 noticeably affects dreaming, the point is that IF you are using B6, you shouldn;t be using it regularly. Once a week max, maybe. Or twice. If you do want to do a "burst" of B6 use, like take it every day, you should do so for a week or less, and then stop using it for a month or two to let it get out of your system. Prolonged daily use of B6 in such large quantities is potentially harmful.

Yes, you have the right thing. I bought some Vitamin B6 for weightlifting, but I've done my research and you would have to consume at least 100mg of Vitamin B6 an hour before bed in order for it to effect your dreams.
