Does anyone here regularly use audio to become lucid with good success, who normally cannot? I'm interested in the actual audio techniques used to do this. For instance the use of in-depth lucid instruction, or just simple short words for easy comprehension?

My other question is about the Dream Maker or Nova Maker for becoming lucid. Are such devices worthy of doing so? Or is creating an audio clip as successful for you? I imagine the lights with audio would prove most effective, but you people are the pros at this; I know so little.

      Thanks for any advice.

I'm a newfound lucid dreamer. Well, I believe I have only had 2 in my lifetime. The last one was about 5 days ago, which spiked my interest in learning about lucid dreaming (previous was around age 5).

I'll share my recent experience for introduction.

In recurring dreams, I can focus myself to levitate - about once a month or less maybe. I believed it in the dreams as well of coarse. When I told someone about the recurring dream (a week prior to), it made something click when I next had the dream. When I levitated in the next dream, I said, "I can't levitate, I talked about this, I'm dreaming" and I became lucid. I remember after this happened, I looked at the people in the room, one was my friend. I turned to him and said "this is a dream isn't it?". I could tell by the way he answered me after repeatedly asking that it indeed was a dream. I was allowed less than 1 minute or two before awaking from excitment of looking around the environment.

Well anyways, I'm going to start practicing the ideas discussed around on becoming lucid.

Needless to say, I'm anxious to do it again...I can't wait.

I noticed the other day, the tv was on an infommercial after I feel asleep, and I was dreaming about the verizon wireless internet card they were talking about in the dream.

This makes me think that audio is one of the best ways of telling myself how to become lucid since I can't really do it myself otherwise.

Does anyone here regularly use audio to become lucid with good success, who normally cannot? I'm interested in the actual audio techniques used to do this. For instance the use of in-depth lucid instruction, or just simple short words for easy comprehension. I was thinking, since I know how to levitate and have become lucid doing so now, that I could repeat on the audio to levitate. Or just say the word "levitate" every minute or so for 5 minutes. My problem is timing it into REM sleep while not prolonging the audio which (I assume) could also disrupt the dream.

My other question is about the Dream Maker or Nova Maker for becoming lucid. Are such devices worthy of doing so? Or is creating an audio clip my best bet? I imagine the lights with audio would prove most effective, but you people are the pros at this; I know so little.

Sorry about the lengthy post...and thanks for any advice.

Greetings! I've been using audio for inducing for a couple of years although I've been lucid for about 13 years. I found that it has been very effective. First I would trigger a file just to get you lucid. I have some mp3 with simple statements, this is a dream, you are dreaming, do a reality check now, etc. Once you start getting lucid due to the audio next you can move into setting intensions on doing certain task.

I know the Nova Dreamer has allot of success but they are no longer in production although supposedly the next version is in the making. I'm currently working with wellnesstools and I'm testing DreamMaker, I've had a slow start but I hope to post some good results soon.

      Cheers!

Thank you much for the info. Is that an actual DreamMaker in your signature? I want one when they're available (I thought they were already available?).

Edit: Just found the MP3 you posted, excellent! Will start tonight.

No those are new color track glasses for mind machines by photosonix (I want some). The DreamMaker Basic is out now, hes working on the Pro Model which will have a gig of memory where you can trigger mp3's directly from the mask when you go into REM (nice&#33 DreamMaker is a sleep mask with a circuit board. In testing, hes made quite comfortable for having a circuit board on your head. I couldnt believe it! I heard the Nova Dreamer was not that comfortable.

Can you explain how those work exacty? I notice they say on the site they hook up to an L/S system, not sure what this is though. Are these designed for dreaming specifically?

      Thanks.

When you get the pro version, although I've never seen it yet on the mask there is a connection to work with L/S (Light and Sound machine). So you can play a program to ease your brainwave into to THETA or which ever you choose. Then when you go into REM the REM sensors picks that up and sends the trigger of flashing lights and a tone if you wish. In the dream you'll see these triggers to cue you into lucidity.

Will those color track glasses in your sig work without the L/S connection? I'd like to buy a pair, unless you may have recommendation towards the Dreammaker instead. The ones in the photo just seem like they would be much more uncomfortable when trying to fall asleep, and I am picky about this sort of thing.

I have a question I'd like to ask you also since you say you have had audio success...

Does the audio itself trigger the lucidity for you - acting as the actual reality check, or does it merely pose the question for you to initiate the reality check?

The Light and Sound glasses are not comfortable. They are for mind machines only and work only with mind machines (AVS - Audio Visual Sound) or Light and Sound. Light and Sound machines are use for brainwave entrainment and not specified for dreaming. Although I've used this technology for this goal, there are hoops you need to jump to get what you're trying to accomplish. The DreamMaker is specifically for dreaming and getting REM ques.

The audio that you hear in the dream tells you you're dreaming so you can go lucid. It's called AutoSuggestion because its affirmations coming from a sound souce or file and repeats. It can be tricky, you're brain will come up with reasons and try to fool you on why you're hearing that file!

I tried out the Dream Maker but didn't work well for me and it seemed to go off all by it's self so sent it back.
