      Pre-bedtime Trance Ritual

      I was thinking of designing a method into a sort of pre-bedtime ritual so that you could drop yourself to bed in a state of trance and fall asleep very fast and preferably consciously. Like (near)instant sleep.

      Now I was thinking of combing some elements that might make the mind sleepy and dissociated enough to fall alseep veryy fast.

      I would like to arrange a list of methods, and other ideas on how to entrance yourself similair to the way sleep does. I will think of some methods myself but I would like to hear your ideas on this too:

      Entrancement:
      -Spinning around; Spacial Disorientation like the "transition pahse" of entering a dream.
      -Dancing; Can work very mentally entrancing and makes the body tired; ready for sleep.
      -Darkness: Spacial disorientation & Sensory deprivation;stimulates fantasy/imagery
      -Drinking Hashish in Tea with Nana-mint; Obviously not an option for everyone.
      -Silence: Sensory deprivation;stimulates fantasy/imagery
      -Repeatative Chanting/Drumming/Music; Significantly Entrancing.
      -Visualisation: Use visual imagination to imagine objects/scenes/light; stimulates fantasy&imagery
      -Bathe in hot water; serverely physically relaxing; You could add some oils of plants to your bath like oils of: Wormwood, Nana-mint, Chili pepper, Lavender, Mugwort, Angel's Trumpets and Salvia for instance. This would enhance both physical relaxation and dreamy enchantment.
      -Watching Smoke; Incense, Watching flames; Candle, Watching the Sky.
      -Drinking Tea. Preferably with Mint.
      -Think of religiously beautyfull things, invoke one of the best, apeacing, glorious sensations/feelings you ever remember having felt. Things like the Sun, the Stars, Impressive sacred temples and culturally amazing architecture of ancient times.. everyone has their own things for this matter.

      Now if you people can help think of some more way to enchantment in a manner that it can bring you in such a state that you will be able to fall asleep VERY fast right afterwards. I'll see if I can make some combinations and build a pre-bedtime enchantment method from it. Feel free to construct your own method, but remember the goal is to affect yourself so that you will become so entranced and dreamy that you'll be able to fall asleep and enter a deam in no time.

      both. I guess it would be easier to focus your attention and stay conscious untill you're in DreamLand when you're in Dreamland really fast.

      Have you added "daydreaming" to the list? I fall asleep (now, I don't have any control or anything) quickly when I daydream while trying to fall asleep.
      The saying "in your dreams" has taken on a whole new meaning...

      Sure but the point is these are things to do BEFORE hitting your pillow. Actually meant to enchant you in such a manner that if you lay in bed, daydreaming, your daydream turns into a real, fully immersive dream faster.

      Any new ideas are welcome.

      This is a very good idea. Does adding wormwood and mugwort and things in your bath really help relax more? Or would that just be psychological? Well, I can't think of anything better than the ones you said. But:

      -Taking a nice long jog or walk around your neighborhood.
      -Massage (if you have someone to do that for you)
      -Trance music
      -Warm heating pad under back
      -Warm milk
      -Not exactly meditate, but remove most thinking from your mind.
      -Yawn every couple minutes
      -Sex (releases a lot of chemicals that make you tired)
      - Flexing muscles in feet for a few seconds then releasing. Other muscles too. Beware of cramps.
      -Deep slow breathing

      Most of these get you tired, not exactly trance-like though. But they could be used in combination with some of the things you mentioned.

      Binaural beats are good too. They work wonders for me.
