Guide - Lucid Dreaming with Isochronic Tones

Alright, so I wrote a new article on using isochronic tones to lucid dream for my website, and I was looking around on here and didn't find any really good information about it, so I thought I'd make a shorter version of the guide and post up here for people interested in using brainwave entrainment to achieve lucidity.

      Why Use Isochronic Tones?

Perhaps you've tried using binaural beats for lucid dreaming and found those effective, but there are several reasons to use isochronic tones instead. Here are the top 3:

      1. Isochronic Tones don't require headphones
      2. Isochronic tones are even more powerful than binaural beats
      3. You can entrain multiple frequencies with isochronic tones

The biggest factor for most people is that headphones are not required, which is much more comfortable.

How to Lucid Dream with Isochronic Tones

Ok, so you're going to lucid dream, you decided to give isochronic tones a try, now how exactly do you do it? The technique I'm going to be showing you here is one I developed personally over a long period of experimentation with my favorite software, endlessly creating sessions and trying them every night to find what worked and what didn't. And I found that the key was to use progressive frequencies. So many people think just sticking a single track on is all they need, and that's just not the case. The real power of this technique lies in using frequencies one after the other. Beginning with high-end alpha waves, you'll create a progression that works you down to low-end theta waves. The result is that your mind will be awake, while your body does what it does when you sleep.

There are basically 3 stages to this: Relaxation, hypnagogic state, and dream state.

      Relaxation

Ok, so you'll want to start out by using these frequencies:

      1. 10.5Hz Alpha wave - 5 minute duration.
      2. 10HZ Alpha wave - 10 minute duration.
      3. 8.3Hz Alpha wave - 5 minute duration.

What this will do is begin to put your brain in a relaxed state, alert at first and then gradually move you into a deeper state of relaxation. The final frequency of this stage will prepare your mind for visualization, which will help you create a dream scene in the next stage.

      Hypnagogic State

This is the second phase, and begins using theta waves to steer you toward the dream state. It uses the following frequencies:

      1. 7Hz Theta Wave - 5 minute duration.
      2. 6.3Hz Theta wave - 3 minute duration
      3. 5Hz Theta wave - 5 minute duration.

During this phase you should begin concentrating your energies on creating the dream scene that you want to enter using visualization techniques. If you find yourself having an OBE during this, simply relax and begin visualization again, focusing on the dream scene. Toward the end of this you'll find yourself slipping through the doorway into the dream itself.

      Dream State

There's only one frequency for this, and it's to keep you relaxed during the dream, or to give you a little more time to enter the dream if you're having difficulty. And that frequency is:

      1. 4.5Hz Theta wave - as long as you want.

The only thing left to do here is enjoy your dream!

Where to Get the Isochronic Tones

This part is up to you. I know it'll be hard to find all the required tones, and I've gone into more detail about this on the article on my website (it's in my profile!), so you can find the ones I use there, but what I would advise is staying away from youtube, since most of the isochronic tones up there are fakes by people just trying to get some popularity or make a quick buck. I personally use professional software that gives me complete control over my sessions and tones as well as being able to plug into a biofeedback device, but that's not for everyone. However you find your isochronic tones, make sure you test them out first to be sure if they're genuine. If they don't do anything for you, then they're not genuine!

Hope you all enjoyed the guide, and I hope it helps some people have some good LDs!
