Question to all who tried taking melatonin/B6

      Hey guys,

I've read about combinations of melatonin, vitamin B6 and valerian greatly increasing dream vividness and even leading to lucidity.
Now I wondered if taking this stuff could alter one's natural abilities of experiencing vivid or lucid dreams, for the better or worse.

Has anyone here taken melatonin and/or B6 (~3mg mel./~100mg B6) or even the combination with high doses of valerian (~1000mg) for some time and then stopped taking it?
How did it affect your dream intensity, recall and ability to become lucid when you haven't taken the stuff for some time?

I don't have LDs all that often, but usually quite vivid dreams and I don't wanna lose this ability just because of taking some supplements out of curiosity.

      Cheers,
      Max

I have tried taking B6 before - I used to try 500mg but didn't notice any affects of taking it, either pre or post experimentation.

I've tried b6 and it definitely helped my vividness. I haven't been taking it that long, and I'm on a break right now, and am pretty much back to the type of dreams I was having before. Recall of about 2 to 3 a night and fair to moderate vividness.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

I have once taken this combination. I first took B6 200 at around 6 30, then i took Melatonin 3 about an hour an a half later, then about 30 mins before i went to bed (11:00) i took some Choline 250. That night, i was able to have dream recalls, but they all seemed jumbled up. If i would have concentrated to remember them when i woke up (like i am starting to do now) i think i would have have better results.
While I'm at it, i will tell you this. I took Melatonin about 5 days in a row i believe. the last two days took 6 and 6mg with B6. When i stopped taking it, i felt as if i were not remembering my dreams anymore for about a week and a half or so. I was surprisingly upset and really wanted to dream again, nothing lucid, just to remember. This was about a week ago and now i am not picky about getting lucid or not. I just want to be able to remember them and, if i can, get lucid.
My personal rule now is to not take supplements too many days in a row.

      I tried B6/melatonin recently.

I took 3mg melatonin and 150mg B6; my dreams werent anything special, but I had slightly better recall.

I think it doesnt have anything to do with the B6, but it was the melatonin that gave the REM rebound effect, giving me better dreams.
