Is Calea zucchini legal in the US?

I don't know how to spell the Z part, so me and all my friends just call it zucchini >_>

      So, is it legal?
Or more specifically, is it legal in Maine?
      Kthanks

It was illigal in like two states here in the US. But it got taken off the list because you'd have to smoke your brains out to get high. It's only real use is for dreams.

It has a much stronger effect by making it a tea or putting it in pills and consume them.

Note that Calea Zacatechichi tea tastes extremely bitter, you may need a big dose, and it may take up to two weeks to have any effect.

Don't expect it to be "yummy" unless you really like extremely bitter flavors, some people describe the taste of Calea tea as "foul" and "nasty", but to be honest I like bitter tea as well, I might want to give it a taste someday.

Yeah, but it seems to vary from person to person, some people report having more vivid dreams in the same night they consumed Calea.

Salvia is still legal in the US, say for like three states. Even then it's not really all that controlled.

And as for the Calea-z -it doesn't even really have any real affects. It's not evern conciteded a drug.

Erowid hardly had any information, which means it's not used as a recreational drug. So it's not going to be controlled. Not to mention Erowid stated that it was legal just about everywere, in it's law section.

Drug is too broad of a term. Caffeine is a recreational drug and its not controlled.

It's effetcs are rather varied. I grow my own, people say only certain strains have the effect. Ive said it before, but now theres a subject on it ill put it on the record.

It has a REVERSE tolerance effect, it dose nothing the first time you take it. (Tea of 5/6 leaves) But if i have that tea ever second day I can maintain its crystal clear dream effects. It wakes you up after every dream period and is a stimulant. I take it 20mins before I try to go to sleep, i normally take 500-1000mg of Valerian root for sleep aid. I dont take under 1000mg when I had Calea z.

I dont really recommend it if you need a goods night sleep, because I find thats wakening up constantly through out the night can be annoying. Also I think it cuts of a lot of deep sleep. I can drift into the dream world on the first attempt (not lucid). And yes the tea is rather nasty, I put a Camomile tea bag in for 10min, reheat the water, them put the Calea leaves in with some honey.

Ive also made Calea juice, yes juicing the leaf matter. Thats always an interesting night Jump start your calea experience. Also I only use fresh leaves.

PS: Its legal in Aus. And Salvia d. is illegal here

The only place I know of Calea Z to be illegal is in Louisianna - but even here, it is only illegal if expressedly sold for human consumption (Hmmm reminds me of Salvia D. disclaimers!)

More info on Calea Z legal status, including text of the bill from Louisianna is available here.

imo calea is crap. it has effects, but its not worth the amazingly bitter taste. theres countless better options of herbs/supplements to experiment with.

My two bits: Calea actually had NEGATIVE impact on my the clarity and recall of my dreams. Tossed the remainder of what I had in the bin. You're probably better off trying Galantamine or the Amino acid combination that has been scientifically scrutinized to have a positive impact on lucid dreaming.
