Anyone own a personal EEG?

If so which one? (Make/Model) Where did you get it (ie. Ebay). How much did it cost (approx)? How do you use it (ie to record brain paterns during the night or to determine your state of awareness (beta, theta, delta, gamma,ect)? Did it come with software or did you make it work with some other program? Ignoring Price as a factor, is this Truly the way to go VS say reling on Tracking Eye Movemtns to detect REM? Lots of Questions but I realy am currious.

i could be wrong but i dont think they would be easy to get since its usually made for scientific purposes and not personanl use. probably not something you could find on ebay but you could always google it if you havent yet. what do you want to know/use it for i did a little research and heres what i came up with: http://answers.google.com/answers/th...id/110618.html i too would like to use one for my own research. i predict salmon oil increases rem sleep but how would i test it without an eeg?

what do you want to know/use it for Well it could be used for detecting REM sleep instead of using eye movements as is done now or it could be used in conjuntion with binaural audio to determine and effect changes in brainwaves, or it could be used to help someone determine if they are relaxing properly to get into trance (I think it's called bioneural feedback) the uses are endless

They can be obtained. I'd say even ebay should have them. Expect to pay at least $500 for a basic older out of date unit. .
