From what i remember Ritalin makes it impossible to sleep, based on what I heard from my cousin at least. Maybe if you take it right as you feel you're close to falling asleep it will kick in after you enter REM and be able to LD. |

I was recently diagnosed with ADD and I was prescribed something similar to ritalin (cant remember) but I was wondering what that would do to my dreaming? Because its increasing my focus throughout the day will I have more vivid dreams? |

I've taken Ritalin, adderall, and conserta (or however its spelled) and all of them just keep you up forever. |

I was recently diagnosed with ADD, as well. I take 18 mg of Concerta (methylphenidate, commonly known by the brand name Ritalin) per day. What I can tell you is that I am able to sleep fine and I still dream lucidly. I do not notice an increase in vividness of my dreams, but I do observe a significant increase of focus throughout the day. I asked my psychiatrist the effects of the medication on REM sleep and he couldn't report any to his knowledge. I looked it up and didn't find anything either. Overall, your ADD medication should not impact your dreaming but may affect sleep (although I have no problems). |

When I was in elementary I was on Ritalin. I do not know the names of all the Ritalin but they all got banned from the USA. For me I got night terror every night. I was up constantly in the night. I know it was high dosage pills too. But the good thing about the pills is that I started to realize that nightmares are not real and started dream control at a young age. |
