Ok, so what Supplements should I purchase?

      Hey everybody

So I've been here for a while now, pretty much know the basics.

      Dream Journal increases recall,

Techniques to find my Lucid inducer

then Stabalizing the lucid dream once achieved.

I have never tried any other supplement other than Gaba, and that didn't really work to well with me. I would use a lot and just went to the toilet often...wait did I just post that on a online public forum?

Anyway, I have heard of Choline, and uhh...B-12? That's pretty much all I can remember at the moment. So I have to ask all the people who've had experienced with supplements...

Which ones should I purchase? I know there are several but I want the best, and most potent supps.

Money isn't really an issue, my goals are pretty much obvious.

Supplements to have better recall, as well as increase vividness. My dreams at the moment suck in vividness. They just seem like 3rd person all the time. Sometimes 1st person but there still not vivid.

So Recall and Vividness is what I'm really aiming after. Of course there's not really a supplement to induce LD's are there? haha

Anyway, I would really love for any advice/input regarding my wishes.

      Thank you very much.

well in my opinion i would start out with VITAMIN B-6. you can pick up a bottle of 100 pills and i think they are 100mg at your local grocery store.. Depending on the grocery store the company they carry could be called "Naturemade" you see it all the time on TV.

that will increase your overall dream vividness..

as far as dream recall... just keeping writing in that journal!

I've read that B6 can help make dreams more vivid, but it doesn't directly influence your chance of obtaining lucidity. I'm not sure how much you're supposed to take or when you're supposed to take it. I tried taking 100 mg before bed for the past few days but I haven't noticed in increase in dream vividness. I'm going to take 300 mg tonight to see if that will work. If you plan on taking an excess amount (300 mg is excess), do not do so on a daily basis. Taking too much B6 over a long period of time can actually cause nerve damage, and you don't want that.

Tried the 300 mg of B6 and I'm not doing it again. I woke up in the middle of the night and felt very strange in the head. I felt like I had a hangover in the morning. Dream was not significantly more vivid. Just woke up with a headache.

the only thing i heard about stuff like B6 was just taking too much could cause like nerve damage (just saw it today as I walked past that aisle at the grocery store). I have thinking about doing suppplements ever since learning about lucid dreaming....but its not worth it in my book to take something that could potentially harm my body just for some dream lucidity that i could do with practice.
I am just curious, with all this supplement talk, if anyone has really good information as to the "safe" amount of levels to take the supplements at so they would cause no long term damage to my body but help obtain increased vividness/lucidity in my dreams.

anyone interested in the supplement method of lucid dream induction should really read 'advanced lucid dreaming: the power of supplements' by thomas yuschak. an easy, fascinating and educational read.

I think it's worth noting that the vitamin b6 suggestions and the melatonin suggestions are in a sense going to do the same thing. Vitamin B6 is an essential component for the metabolism of melatonin. If you do have melatonin you might notice on the label that it contains vitamin b6.

The reason that melatonin (or vitamin b6) increases vividness is that it inhibits adrenaline and noradrenaline production in the immediate surrounding of the pineal gland, allowing the hormones present there to be released. These hormones are melatonin and dimethyltryptamine. The release of melatonin, which regulates sleep cycles and encourages REM sleep is accompanied by dimethyltryptamine, a chemical which produces dreams.

I'm sure many of you are aware of this, but I thought I would point out that the vitamin b6 and melatonin could have very similar results in regards to vividness due to the role that vitamin b6 plays in melatonin synthesis and metabolism. I can't confirm this as I have only taken melatonin, never vitamin b6. Has anyone tried both?

I tried both once and I could safely say it improved either vividness or chance of gaining lucidity, although I can't remember much from that night. I remember waking up more times that night than usual, but that might be a coincidence.
Another thing to note is that my melatonin contains less B6 (5mg/250% DV) than the actual B6 supplement does (25mg/1250% DV). Does the B6 perhaps have another/more specialized function?

I was actually wondering if anyone had tried both on separate occasions and had different (or the same) results.

It's hard to say if the excess of vitamin b6 could be attributed to waking up more often. Vitamin B6 plays many many roles and likely has numerous effects on dreaming. It is possible that the vitamin b6 increased epinephrine production, causing you to be more easily awakened. However, this is purely speculation.

Calea zacatechichi, Ilex guayusa and silene capensis are all worth their reputation
      [url]www.maya-ethnobotanicals.com[/ur

      capensis gives you amazing vividness
Guayusa will prolong your dreams and give you better dream recall
Calea gives you trippy dreams that are just amazing...

Well, in my humble opinion. Ofcourse results are individual but all of them do their work!!!!!

      Peace!

      Simple, cheap, effective

Here are some cheapies but very effective vitamin b-complex sublingual, "Ionic Zinc", Apple Juice, St John's wort & yohimbe extract. Take these only after 3-5hrs sleep.

5-thp is the only thing that I have tried at bed time to effect dreams. I really like it b/c I don't wake up groggy & can remember my dreams. I use melatonin but only small doses like .5mg to get me back to sleep. Taking this makes me wake up after the ride is over, more rest is difficult & sometimes you need more sleep

bottom line no supplement induces lucidity but creates ideal conditions for one to form. Kinda like a tornado warning. Only you can create the motion in the dream ocean. Go now, Dream Lucidly & Prosper
