This will be 1pt on night 14 for a NLD. Its the only dream recall I've had since I've been crazy busy and sick. I don't like counting these odd semi lucid experiences as full lucids for the purposes of the competition. Yes, they have lucid dream elements but it still feels like a non lucid dream. But this one is... interesting.
I mean at one point I started to open my waking life eyes (and the rest of the "void-segments" felt similar), so I think I technically was waking up in these segments and choosing not to move until the dream was revisualized.Quote:
Well the official rules say "Return to a lucid dream after a brief awakening mid-LD", so unless you feel like you were sort of awake but just chilling inside your empty head, then I'd say it's just a very long singular lucid with blank spaces in between. Let me know. Thinking about creating a comp suggestions thread too so people can suggest adding or improving things.
^If this was the case then just one interaction counts per rule "Each task can be completed once per dream/chain."
Great lucid man!!
It's all very hard to define. It's like trying to describe a middle-ground between being awake enough to write dreams down and staying asleep entirely.Quote:
I test out opening my eyes and they are heavy. Instead of doing that, I try to visualize my bedroom.
This works. I get a feel for "dream-eyes" versus "real-eyes" that I didn't really understand before when people talked about it.
I get up for another round.
I'll defer to you since you are running the comp. It isn't going to make a big difference in the final scores, but it does make a difference for me competing against myself.
I'd be on-board to help with comp-suggestions too. Hashing out rule definitions for later would be helpful I think. I probably wouldn't want to host a comp until I have a higher skill level myself though.
Final update

:-? :flyaway:If you feel like it, let me know what you thought about this competition. What did you like? What didn't you like? What worked? What didn't? What would you like to see added in the next competition? I'm also thinking about popping a general Competition Suggestion Thread into the Lucid Challenges section for any improvement ideas to any and all future competitions.
Thanks Saiz for organizing this, and everyone for making the lucid dreaming community so much fun! Congrats Owls! We'll get ya next time!
I liked that it brings everyone together and we can help each other out (like when I asked about strategies for teleporting). It gives a compelling reason to post dreams regularly and shoot for the goals. I kinda also dig that it comes in seasons, cause life is busy and I don't always have time to do WBTB every weekend or focus on journaling. If it is only every so often, it makes it mean more.
I do think there is some ambiguity with the scoring, and given the subject matter it's kinda tough to avoid. One suggestion I have would be to create a repository of examples and counterexamples for ambiguous points categories, submitted by the community. At the end of the day this is all honor-system anyway and I think it works well with that setup. I hope I wasn't too annoying with my bickering about the chaining points, Saiz :cackle:
Thanks for putting together this competition, Saizaphod.
I've never had so many lucid dreams within the span of 2 weeks. And I feel like our was because I felt a duty to get points for my team.
I liked working towards the goal of doing something in my dreams that I've never done.
This has been incredible Saizaphod! My points were a little lacking for the competition, but the simple act of joining in has helped me get back to the mindfulness and practice of remembering dreams which I have needed so much. Thank you for organizing and providing all of the amazing pieces to go along with it! I especially love the effort put into the team banners and the intro video. My only comment is possibly extending competition time from two weeks to maybe a little longer, like over a certain month, next time around. Many of my personal goals involve the month-long timespan (ie. certain number of dreams written down, number of lucids, etc...). It is a larger commitment from everyone though so I understand if this is an unpopular opinion. Either way, I will definitely be on board for whenever we have our next competition!
Maybe a compromise at three weeks! :cackle:
What if we see a spike like we did week 1 to week 2, but from week 2 to week 3? That would be something! :rolllaugh:
