      Can't Wake Up

I just had a very long (and terrifying) series of false awakenings. It started off as a regular dream, and then I thought I woke up, but I couldn't get out of bed. I kept trying to wake up, and I kept just waking up in my bed and I'd try to turn a light on and read something and it just wouldn't work. A couple times I thought I was really awake and I would go downstairs and start telling someone about how I was just stuck in a dream for a long time, and then I would realize I was still dreaming. I felt like the guy from Waking Life. It started to really freak me out to the point of panicking and I kept just trying to turn on lights, and they wouldn't work. Eventually I had a moment of clarity, and thought "I'm not gonna stay asleep forever, might as well take advantage of this." I walked to my window and tried to jump through. It was solid, but I opened it and jumped through down to the ground. The night air was very peaceful, and I jumped up and began swimming up vertically into the air. The trees and houses below me looked very beautiful, and eventually I started to see little villages of tents arranged in circles with people walking around, and a fighting ring with dragons standing around in chains. A few seconds later the dream dissolved and I woke up naturally.

I've never had this happen before, usually my problem is the opposite, I can't stay asleep. I think there may have been a connection between the panicked trying to wake up and not being able to wake up, because when I relaxed and just had fun, the problem went away. I was very relieved when I finally did wake up, though.

wow, that sounds scary. I hope that never happens to me :O

although relaxing seems to be the key, like it usually is when it comes to this stuff. But its hard to relax. usually when im lucid I find myself going off on allot of irrational tangent's....

"hello im new ! anyways, i took a 2hr nap tody at 4pm because i was uber tired,i set a alaram clock for 2hrs nap and a 1 hr timer for 3 beeps so it could wake me and i can try a WILD, i did exactly just that and i went into a OBE and i cant remember waht i did because i had atleast 5 OBE's... this is personall but i dont give a shit lol, i was in my dream experimenting with orgasaming ina dream, in all my obes i was having i made my vision clear (by rubbing hands together) and then finding a woman to ethir sex or blowjob, anyway after i realised it wasnt working i tried to wake up, and oh no.. got caught in a false awakening loop.. but this was so obvious because everytime i woke up i ethir woke up in my new modified room or my old house in the living room or whatever, i was getting really freaked outa nd i went to the mirror (in my old house) while i was still in a false awakening and looked at my self and just screamed, i went around a bit panicing trying to change my breathing (i was doing it with my mouth, not nose... STUPID! (i dont breath through my mouth when i sleep))... so anyway in my last false awakening which was probably my 6th i stood up and thought to my self ok think logic... i remembered my table in my room and wehre everything was and before i know it i was staring at darkness and i opened my eyes and i realised i was in my room, it took me a minute to register where i was and what time it was, i thought it was morning 7.30am but it was 5.30pm... (half an our before i should of woke up from 2hr nap)"
