      Lucid Dreaming More Often

I had my first and 2nd lucid dreams years ago when I was younger, maybe around 12 or so. Since then, I would try to get myself to realize I was dreaming to no avail. At some point I just totally gave up on it.

Then as of late for the past year (I'm 22 now), I've been having several lucid dreams. I'm not sure why I am able to "activate" it so much easier, but when I'm dreaming, sometimes the word "dream" comes into my head and suddenly I realize I'm dreaming. Other times I can activate lucid dreaming by looking down at my feet or becoming very angry at a dream person.

My lucid dreaming "powers" are still weak, however. Most of the time I get excited and do my favorite activity, flying. In other instances, I've changed contorted, scary faces to pleasant ones or tried to hold items in my hands (sometimes they feel like nothing and other times they have weight to them). Unfortunately I tend to follow the storyline my mind is going through and eventually forget I'm dreaming, but I try to fight it when I realize that's happening.

One time I tried to imagine myself at the beach with my feet in the sand. It partially worked. I felt that the scene was changing to that, but I just couldn't complete it

One main thing I've started noticing is that sometimes when I realize I'm dreaming, I have the sense that my eyes are closed and if I open them, I'm going to wake up in the real world. If I get the courage to open them, I get like perfect 20/20 vision in my dream. The colors are so vibrant, and I almost feel like the dream world is physically there; it's really an amazing feeling! If I decide to keep my eyes shut, the dream world gets blurry, and I can't view the dream world with perfect sight. I actually had a lucid dream last night, but I was too afraid to open my eyes so I ended up following the storyline and forgot I was dreaming
