I have been doing research on lucid dreaming for a month or so now, so I thought I should join this forum.
I had my first LD a month ago. I did not have complete control, as it was a regular dream only I went through 10 minutes of it fully aware.
Last night I consider my first "true" LD, where I not only had control and for a long time, I made use of it. It started as a regular dream. My family and I were all going to Hawaii to stay at a hotel and tour there. We arrived and checked in, but the rest becomes blurry, something involving a saltwater swimming pool and hidden messages on the walls. However soon I found myself on top of the 20 story building fighting what looked like Saddam Hussein with a light saber. And I remember thinking, "Hmm, this is odd. Here I am fighting this evil dictator on top of this tall building with the fate of the world resting upon my shoulders. Surely this can only be a dream." And at that, I became fully lucid. I remember my research and started dreamspinning clockwise. I found that the scene became clearer and I gained even more control. The first thing I tried was changing the scene. It took me two tries, but I managed to accomplish it, and I found myself in an empty field similar to those in crappy free flight sims. I attempted to fly. I succeded in getting about 30 feet off the ground and going at a slow and steady speed. "Where's the joy in this?" I thought. Then I remembered something even more fun: Sex. I spun and changed the scene to an entryway of a large house, with a massive bed in the center of the room. There was an open elevator shaft at the rear of the room. I stood facing the door and said "I summon a woman." The door flew open and out walked around 7 of the most ugly and oldest women I have seen in my life. I realized that my command should have been more specific. So called again: "I summon a beautiful women." Better. One of the semi-good-looking girls at my school appeared through the door. Without speaking we both pulled off our clothes and began to climb into the bed, when suddenly a maintenance worker climbed down the open elevator shaft and made her disappear. It was at this point that I became so frustrated at the lack of fun that I was experiencing that I awoke. For my first real LD experience, it was rather disappointing.
