      1 Second of Lucidity

Several months ago, at my last attempt at attaining lucidity, I can only remember about one second of the dream. Problem is, I don't remember what it was about, or how I came to realise it was a dream. All I can remember is thinking "I'm dreaming." and suddenly my vision got EXTREMELY fuzzy, as though i was looking at a static television channel, and then I woke up.

Has anyone had something similar happen to themselves?

      Re: 1 Second of Lucidity

I think there can be occasions when you could become too conscious in a LD. If you are amazed when you become lucid and begin to question the dream images, or try to rationalize the dream content, you can easily become too aware of reality and wake yourself up. Over the years, I've found that when I accept the imagery without worrying about how I am perceiving it or where it is coming from, lucidity will be much longer than mere seconds. I guess it would be easier to say that you might need to be calm and "go with the flow" with lucidity, especially if you are just beginning to LD.

yeah that happened to me my first time. it lasted a little longer maybe 10 seconds or less. it got fuzzy but then i remembered reading about spinning to stay in the dream (talk about being lucid) and i came back and the fuzzyness left but i faded back to my body and woke up right after a short SP false awakening. heh

I've had a couple experiences like that.

The first time I had this happen I was driving up to my house in my car. The reason why I realized I was dreaming was because I was re-enacting exactly what I had done just a few hours before. So once I realized I was dreaming, I fell back through my seat, and through the floor, and into the ground, and I could see the car slipping farther and farther away from me. During this fall, I could hear my aunt mumbling and whinning, then I woke up.

This only lasted a few seconds, to my memory.

In the second one, just a few nights later, I was chasing behind someone who had a gun. They stopped, knelt down, and attemted to shoot themselve in the stomach. Just as they were doing that, I realized I was dreaming, and can't remember anything else besides that.

This also only lasted a few seconds.

I have never had that fuzzy vison before, though.

This happens to me nearly every night. Last night, I had one of these again, and started spinning, which works great. Just spin until you think you've spun enough. Also, don't think; just remember that you're lucid. I eventually thought, and everything went fuzzy, and I forgot to spin.

Often in my dreams lucid or not, something obstructs my vision.
      Life is but a dream....
