      First DEILD.. on accident?

Hey DV. Before last night, I had only had one lucid "dream" (moment) which was induced by a reality check in a FA. So basically, I got lucky. Anyways, I was having a very weird dream. I was in a water park. I was scared to go down the smallest of slides (very unlike me, I love amusement park rides.) I saw my dad get shot out of a cannon that was on top of a huge building, probably 200 feet in the air. He dove into a pool. I felt like I needed to do it cause my dad did it, and I made my way up to the top and remember being EXTREMELY scared/anxious. At this point I woke up. Unconsciencely, I stayed completely still and just went to sleep within five seconds. I awoke in the same room, about to cannon ball myself into the air. Out of nowhere, I realized I was dreaming, and became excited to do the stunt. I didn't stabalize, and slipped back into nonlucidity. I remember a preacher praying over us before we were shot out of the cannon, and woke back up, and opened my eyes before i could stop myself.

I assume all of this happened because a) I had been repeating the mantra: 'The next time I dream I will realize I'm dreaming' and b) I had been reading about DEILD on here before I went to bed, though I had no plans on trying it that night.

So I just wanted to share this, and here from someone else who this had happened to. I figured it might have just been the SP that kept me from immediately moving when I woke up. Overall though, DEILD seems like almost a fool proof way to lucid, as long as you can train yourself correctly.

well it doesnt seem like an accident if you were repeating a mantra. But congratulations on this. I got into lucid dreaming from something like that i experienced over a year ago where I was in an office and realized i was dreaming but only for a second or 2. good job and i hope you get more.
