Lucid Dream, or dream about being Lucid?

I know that doesn't make much sense, but I'm wondering. Last night(my frist attempt at Lucid Dreaming) I kept telling myself I would wakeup after my dreams, remember them, and then attain lucidity... Anyways, I did this 2 times. In the morning, my mom woke me up, to say she was going to her class room to pick up her things. (Shes a teacher and needed to get her stuff for summer.)

So I fall asleep and what not, and I do a RC. Can't remember if it worked, but next thing I know, I was happy, because I was in a (or thought it was) a LD. It started fading ASAP, so I started spinning, and wanting to go to an island. Then, (it was very vauge) I was at a beach, with rocks coming out of the water. They were like big stepping stones, and a whale or something was laying on them. I got so excited, I woke up.

But the thing is, I'm not sure if that was Lucid, or was I just so anxious to have a LD that it was a normal dream, only making me THINK I was lucid?

      Anyone have any ideas?

First of all, welcome to the forum.

But, here we go with this question again! A lot of people have asked this same question in one form or another, but I just don't get it. Either you knew you were dreaming, or you didn't.

Based on your description, it sounds like a lucid dream to me.

I've had around 10 or so lucid's and they ALL will seem that way. What is really happening is that you are experiencing a low level of clarity be it audio visual or any other sense, so you don't feel like you are actually LDing. What you have to do is focus on the clarity of the dreams so it feels more realistic and more like an LD than a dream about being lucid.

When I had my first lucid dream, I thought that too, but then I realised, like my 2nd LD, I was just drifting in and out of lucidity.
