Talk about a strange mirror.

Last night was in a high control LD. So I decided to find a mirror.

There were two of me, one in front of the other. The image in the foreground was me and it was mimicing my actions.
The one in the background was also me and it was observing what the 'me' in the foreground was doing. Its movements and expressions were independant. Freaky!

That is strange, i cant recall a dream or LD where i've looked into a mirror, i recall mirrors, but i havn't really shown much interest in one, in a dream.

It doesn't really matter if the topic is old now, now does it? It sounds very interesting though, because I for one, would love to try that out someday. Ya know, but first I gotta get in control of my dreams.

ooh Mirrors are so creepy XD I think I'd be staying far away from them if I ever got a chance to look at them in a lucid dream. Well, maybe once I get better control and know I can battle any baddies that jump out at me

Don't people generally see distorted figures or an unfamiliar face when they look into mirrors in dreams? oh oh It'd be so cool if you looked into a mirror & your reflection started talking to you & said they were your dream guide XD Cool, but also disturbing?

In my first lucid dream that I got from trying to have lucid dreams I was in my bathroom (which has a big mirror). For me the mirror was exactly like reality. It was by looking in the mirror that I noticed someone appear next to me. Basically though in my dreams the mirror was nothing special at all. I saw myself basically when I looked into it, my hair was longer than usual (which was interesting, lol) but other than that, everything was normal.

I agree.

Something like that is what I'm scared of. Or else what I look like; I might be all weird or hideous, and it will have some sort of meaning. Or you might see something you are not supposed to. It is really the only thing that seems scary in LD's.

Most my dreams seem pretty meaningless so I guess I shouldn't worry.

Yeah I definitely agree with ...you might see something you are not supposed to." >.> That is my problem in general with mirrors XD I can be a little superstitious and freaked out, though, since I have an overactive imagination.

It seems especially in the dreamscape where anything goes that mirrors can really behave strangely and possibly in ways that could be considered menacing/creepy <.< Very not cool

I've seen myself morph in age to a child and back again.
I've seen myself unchanged
I've seen myself as a woman
I've seen no reflection
I've seen my reflection with no background, just blackness

Everytime is an experience. I'm going to have to try this again sometime

The only dream I can recall which involved a mirror was one of those "my teeth are falling out" dreams, where I was looking in the bathroom mirror. Didn't see anything unusual in it, other than the carnage in my mouth.

I can only recall looking into a mirror once, and although my reflection was normal, it showed me standing in a different part of the room than where I was actually standing...

I once looked myself in the mirror in a LD.
Well actually, the mirror came to me, I didn't search for one, but as I stood there, one appeared out of nowhere.
I looked into it, and it looked like my own living room.

I woke up 3 seconds after seeing it.

My own reflection was normal though.

We've probably both seen too many horror movies. Sounds like other people have good or interesting experiences. (Except for the "carnage in the mouth" doesn't sound too good! LOL, sorry TygrHawk that sounds funny! I mean the way you put it, not you actually having carnage in your mouth.)

That's how it use to be for me.

That is, until I read about getting to where you want to go by going through a mirror. After that I was drawn to mirrors and went to one in four separate lucids (I think that's how many) but all I did was study myself to see if it was the same me.

It was simular, but the mirror me was uglier.

That sounds pretty cool. Messing around with mirrors has always been on my list of things to do in a lucid dream. Mainly, I wanted to step through a mirror and see where I end up.

When I picture a mirror I normally picture a somewhat parallel universe. I'm hoping that stepping through a mirror will bring about a whole new dream world for me to explore. I've hope for some sort of surreal environment with a bunch of imaginative creatures running around, a beautiful sky, and mysterious architecture.

Hopefully, I'll get the chance tonight

Have you ever just sat or stood in front of a mirror and stared at your face?

No this isnt a mean joke, lol why would you think that?

I did a couple years ago (i was tired) and it was the strangest feeling. *note: this is in waking life not a dream*
After a while it's like I'm staring at someone else and it feels as if I stare long enough the me in the mirror will do something different from me or I will see something just as strange.

I have tried it since then but not for very long, everything "resets" when I blink and it's hard not to.

I have not had the chance to do it for very long because I'd look like a complete weirdo in my house staring at myself for several minutes on end.

I know exactly how you feel. I have the same feeling when I look into my eyes.

In my downstairs bathroom there was a medicine cabinet with a mirror on the outside and when you opened it the reflexion in the real mirror looked like a set of stairs. When I was young I was honestly scared that something would come running down those to get me.

It seems ridiculous, but I just couldn't get something like that out of my imagination when I was looking into it.

Yeah, it's odd how the silliest things can scare us. Staring at myself use to scare me but now it's just weird.
