I am new to this website, but I've being doing lucid dreaming for almost a year now. Recently I discovered that my control over the dreams became more possible then ever. Unfortunately it also became more real. And sometime I can’t make a difference between reality and my dreams, when it happens, my abilities like flying or moving objects or other stuff that I usually do in the lucid dream cannot be performed for some unknown reason. Even when I realize, that this is only a dream, I still can’t do anything no mater how hard I try. Last night I was gliding instead of flying and fell on the ground. That was terrible. Does anyone know why is it happening??? I am confused.
The Idea that all things are possible in Lucid Dreaming was never considered true by any of the experts in the Field of Dreaming, but it made a great public relations slogan, and was used to sell Lucid Dreaming Books and to fill up the Week End Seminars.
In actual Lucid Dreaming, one encounters many limitations. The Higher Self is reluctant to turn over all control to the individual dreamer. often the tactic of imposing False Awakenings are imposed upon Lucid Dreamers in order to attempt to shake off unwonted Lucid Control.
Yes, I notice the same thing you did. What goes up must come down. it seems that we lose the power to fly. We run out of gas. it used to be upsetting.
Then I noticed something -- that when I would come down, often I would find myself in a much higher and more Spiritual Dream Scene.
Flying is indeed a great deal of fun. But the Higher Mind may be intent upon using Flight as a means of Transportation. you are perhaps meant to come down into intended Dream Scenes, which are infinitely better than the ones you had left behind.
Anyway, it would best be advisable to consider Lucid Dreaming not as a Personal Tyranny where one has absolute powers over everything that has to do with Dreaming, but to concede that one has a partnership with some form of Higher Mind, that, while it is largely benevolent toward you, has its own interests and objectives to protect.
We must wonder whether the Higher Self sees any use in helping us with our Lucid Dreams if it does not envision that we will eventually be of much use to It. If we have no place in its Destiny, then why should it cooperate with us?
So the next time you conk out and land somewhere, take a look around and try to figure out why you were dropped where you were. You may then make some rather serendipitous discoveries.
