      Re entering a dream

Hi Everyone i am new to this site but want ed to share some of my experiences.

I am nearly 40 years old now and an accountant. I have been having Lucid dreams since the age of 8 when I used to get terrible nightmares almost every night. Initially I could hardly move in my dreams and then eventually I managed to either knock over a light or slam a door which usually woke me up.

Over a period of years I have had more and more dreams where I could levitate and fly at will and also been able to move objects with my mind.

But one of the strangest things that has happened was I once had a dream at about the age of 13 where I was helping a wounded man escape from a concentration camp in the war, I can still remember running with him along a barbed wire fence and turning a corner and seeing a church. We went through the church and finally escaped.

This was very unremarkable until about 3 years later I had exactly the same dream. As we awere running alongside the fence the guy said 'I can't go on' so I turned to him and said 'don't worry I've had this dream before, there is a church around the corner and we can escape' which is exactly what we did.

I would be interested if anyone else has done this.

You've got some good memory there, mate That dream must have left quite the impression for you to remember it still, even now. But besides that, its an interesting subject you bring up. I think we might experience such things more often than we think we do, we just dont consciously think about them.

But your dream was exactly the same? I suppose it is similiar to a recurring nightmare, only it recurred many years later. Perhaps this indicates that an event that happened in your life back then, has happened again, or will happen soon? (or at least, a similiar event).

In any case, glad to see a real veteran on the forum! ^_^ Welcome

      Memory

      Hi thanks for replying.

My dreams have always been very vivid, more like movies, and i can remember quite a lot even from when I was a kid. But this one really made an impression as it was identical.

i had another one once where I was trying to get through a type of maze, working out difficult tasks etc, it lasted about 3 or 4 months and each night I had the dream I would get a little further until it eventually finished. I supoose I must have had a problem on my mind at the time that i was trying to work out. I reckon I must have been about 12 then.

White lightning, I've had a similar experience. I've written about it here http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic....=16606&start=15.

I had a dream about two or three months ago, and I had a different dream within two weeks that had an overlapping part. It was not the same dream, but one part I specifically remember was identical. Right after the same part repeated, I had deja vu. The dream time slowed down temporarily, along with heightened sense.

It would be interesting if you had deja vu in your second dream.

First of all, Welcome to DV white Lightning! I have had many similar experiences over the years. I remember a lot of them from when I was younger where i would have a dream one night, and then years later when I was older, Id be in the same dream. And id tell people things like " Oh i know what I have to do here, Ive had this dream before" Sometimes Ill have dreams nowadays that i have had when I was younger and I am always pleasantly surprised that I get to visit an old dream scene
