Tunnel travelling experience on a dream

I've been reading some books about astral travel, going to astral planes and in some books say that while dreaming, we go to some sort of astral plane. I don't know if this is correct, but i've been wondering what could happen if i travel to an astral plane while lucid dreaming.
Last week i had an experience on a lucid dream. Inside the dream i said to myself:
-"I want to go to an astral plane, meet astral beings."
I looked up and jumped. I began to fly very slowly. I must have levitated just a bit. I decided to look at the ground and concentrate on seeing the ground further away. It began to work, i flew a little higher until the Earth has disappeared. Everything was dark. It seemed i was in space but everything was black. Then I saw a dot, a little light. I decided to go to the light. I concentrated on going there, but it was difficult. It seemed to take about 2 minutes and was still on the same place. Then the light became a little bigger. Suddenly, it began to form a tunnel. It looked like a spiral wormhole approaching me. In the middle, there was a silver cord as mentioned on astral projections. I started to enter the tunnel. I felt anxiety and my heart beating faster. I began to watch my hands to not wake up. But it did not work. I began to see the tunnel to walk away and I came back to Earth. I woke up with my heart beating at "1000 bpm."

What do you think? Do we go to an astral plane during dreaming? Did i have an experience on traveling to an astral plane?

Personally I have actually astral traveled, and it was during a dream (with double blind confirmation afterwards) I remember being a singularity of energy, then hearing music, I decided go to it, and found myself entering someone's body, I could hear the music very clearly, then suddenly it started beating in synch with the persons heart, and slowly sped up and their heart beat got more intense to the music. Quickly it became very strong like the heart was going to break the ribs or explode trying. Then thought "what is death if this world is made of dream?" and woke up. Years later I was talking to a girl I had been obsessed with at the time, she mentioned music can affect the body, and told a story as an example. It was basically the exact story I just told you, except from the perspective of the person listening to the music, I even got her to find the song she was listening to (a Sigur Ros song, don't remember the name, but if I hear it I'll know).

so I definitely believe it's possible, though whether it can be confirmed outside the dream is a matter of being in the right part of the multiverse at the right time.

While dreaming, the Pineal gland in the brain produces the chemical called DMT (Dimethyl Tryptamine). This chemical is the reason you dream. People often extract this chemical from some barks in plants, and then smoke the chemical... It creates a very psychedelic experience, and people report seeing gods, or meeting sentient beings, etc.

Based on this, it is 100% possible to travel to some sort of "astral plane" while dreaming. I wouldn't necessarily call it an astral plane, but it is sort of a representation of your personality in a dream form.. You will be talking to a being that teaches you everything about the world, and you won't be able to explain it to anyone.

Next time you lucid dream, definitely try!

as much as I would like to get free dmt dished out by my brain, I've researched this topic and never found any hard evidence for it, so if you have some links on the subject I am definitely curious.

and personally having thouroughly explored ayahuasca (the ancient DMT recipe of the amazonian shamans) and many other psychedelic indoles, what you say doesn't even scratch the surface of the experience they offer. not that it's impossible to bring things back from these places, though it takes experience, respect, and clarity of thought. If you're interested, Terrence Mckenna is by far the most accomplished spokesperson on the subject of the psychedelic realms.
