      First lucid!

Hey all. I've known about lucid dreaming for years and I'd given up on them after failing to induce one using various techniques. However last night I managed to get into one using DILD, so I think I might try and have more from now on.

A middle aged woman I know was insisting it was January 1st. I knew it wasn't, and checked the calendar on my phone to make sure (I know, absurd) Everything seemed so real: Her fingernails, the buttons on her coat. I wanted to feel sure that this was a dream and not waking life otherwise I'd have to live with the consequences. Once I was sure, I tried sleeping with women on the smallest of pretexts. I wasnt forceful but i was confident. Slept with a girl by telling her she made such good chicken then everything started to fade.

I feel like my consciousness in the dream was a little limited though, if I truly had my waking consciousness I feel like I would do more than just try and sleep with someone. Oh well, it was my first after all. DILD seems like a really good way of LDing - noticing strangenesses in your surroundings and using them as a cue to question whether or not you're dreaming.

Congrats on the first lucid dream!
Do you have goal list of things to do once lucid? If not, i suggest making one and reading it every once in a while as well as before sleep, with it you will have more chances to regain waking life memory in dream once lucid and you will already know what to do instead of trying to think something up on the place.

      Well done.

Many people fail at sleeping with people due to excitement getting the better of them and pushing them out into the waking world. As you've said, there's many things in the dream world that can be done and will give you extreme enjoyment - though, having sex is still understandably great (if you make it to be) as any emotions, feelings and senses are usually amplified in the dream world; everything's more real than reality (to a lot of people anyhow) and of course if you head in with all of these thoughts in your head and the expectation for it to be great, it will indeed be great!!

Anyway, I'm glad you've achieved your first dream and have done what a lot of people were unable to succeed with on their first dream.

Cheers mate. Yeah everything was a little intense - I'm surprised I was so calm. I think I'll try easy stuff to start with - something I read which sounds like a great idea is to ask a DC to do something like 'show me something amazing' and ask them 'what part of my subconscious do you represent?' Doing that sounds interesting and much easier than learning to fly.

Congrats on your first lucid, that seems a good way to get lucid xD

And you're totally right: sometimes things that you take from granted cannot possibly be recreated in full detail are the ones who totally convince us that what we're experiencing is waking reality ^^
