First lucid dream, disturbing sounds!!

As i started my lucid dream with the help of a lucid induction cd, I was spinning at an insane rate like taz maniac, and i heard a wild screaming, the rest of the dream was ok, lots of flying but i started to hear that spinning screaming sound, it was really ofputting and i woke myself up in the end. Any ideas?

Hi, and welcome. I think you just need more practice, thinking and remembering that in a lucid dream, anything is possible. If you hear a sound you do not like, just think, I will turn that sound into great music and ta da! It will become music you want to hear.

Hi Freerunner Congratulations on your lucid experience. Hearing strange voices or noise is perfectly normal, it is nothing to worry about. As Taisia said, it is just a matter of practice and getting used to it. You should always try to stay calm and remember that the screaming will not harm you in any way. Try to listen to it, maybe you can hear a certain pattern... if you start to feel more comfortable you can also try to control the noise. Imagine hearing a waterfall and maybe you will even start to SEE it in your dream. Use the noise to create images, induce certain feelings, or just listen to it and enjoy the ride. Sometimes it's possible that there is actually a sound in waking life, which will get distorted, multiplied and amplified in your dream. For example: You might hear the TV set in the room next to you while asleep, whereas in your dream it could sound like 1000 voices humming a strange chorus ... your mind might even start to create the dreamworld around a certain noise. Ever dreamed that someone was knocking at your door and in the next moment you were fully awake because it actually happened? There might also be other reasons for the screaming you heard. May I ask which lucid induction CD you were using?

Its an mp3 i found on the net which i burned onto a cd. Its simply relaxing sounds and a calm voice telling you are dreaming and remending you to do reality checks.
