      Lucid Nightmare

This was an odd dream. I looked at my hands and saw eight fingers on my left hand and five on my right. I immediately knew I was dreaming and tried to focus and calm down. I was then inside a bathroom and levitated things that were lying across the sink. There was toothpaste, a hair bush and a hair dryer. Then I walked into the street and was at my old house's street. There was this "bully" that started punching me and I couldn't do anything about it. I still knew I was dreaming and said "You're just a part of my dream, you can't hurt me. You are just my subconscious." I tried "thinking" up a weapon so that he would stop hurting me but it wouldn't work. I knew I was dreaming, but I couldn't control it. After that, I woke up.

      Questions

Why could I control the dream in the beginning but then suddenly couldn't? I controlled my first lucid dream no problem. Was this because it was a nightmare?

      Notes

Throughout the dream, I was never scared. I was just confused why I couldn't control anything. After my first lucid dream (this being my second) I had a false awakening. Even when I woke up and realized I had a false awakening, I wasn't scared.

      Congrats on lucid!
If you weren't scared then why you call it nightmare? As for low control, maybe you were not confident enough or were having doubts at that point. Either way it will improve with practice, in meanwhile read this tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...m-control.html

Lucid nightmares are the worst! I had one the other morning where I knew it was not good from the start. A demonic/ possessed looking man attacks me from a dimly lit room, I stay calm and take care of him and immediately after I hear powerful scary sounds and see in the distance large demonic/ monsters coming towards me from the shadows. I'm like screw this I just want to wake up now and find that I cannot wake up from it >< I back myself into the closest room and lock the door, close my eyes and start concentrating on just waking up. Most of the time I don't even get scared anymore, confident that I am in control and usually able to laugh in a lucid nightmare's face but being unable to wake up and stuck there not wanting to deal with it...yuck!
