      Harry Potters Powerful Spells

I had a lucid about two nights ago, that involved me in a starbucksesque area, and I wanted to fulfill one of my fantasies of using a powerful spell in harry potter, so I got out a wand, and at first used the Sectum Sempra spell, which made a guy turn queasy, and then finally I used a speell which had an incantation of

      "ILLUMINATI"

this spell shot powerful beams of white light disinigrated my enemies that were there. It was a fun rush of power.

Pretty cool man! Was Hermoine with you?

I typically do it Jedi style in my LDs. Waving the hand, holding my palm out and making things come to me. Never thought of using a wand.

I've never really given it a lot of thought, but there is a world of ideas available in movies and books just waiting for lucid dreamers to try. There have been many that have done Matrix or Spiderman stuff, but just think, you could be James Bond!

      Man, the possibilities!

Imagine the sort of gadgets you could invent and fast cars you could ride.....it would be great to be James Bond in a Lucid Dream.

Movies are a great source of inspiration for dreaming - its like Harry Potter and Star Wars are full of interesting stuff to think about (content of the story and characters within the film etc).

That’s what I love about lucid dreaming, imagination is a crucial part to having creative dreams and making lucid dreaming exciting - you just have to watch the sort of films that 'ignite' your enthusiasm.

For me its films by George Romero, Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam and David Lynch - all of these directors seem to have a lucid sensibility to their films that relates to dreaming.

I reccently watched a movie called "Time Bandits" and the core of the story is basically about dreaming and what we can do within our dreams - it paints a perfect picture.

David Lynch!!! Man, that would be one screwed up lucid! Remember Boxing Helena?

I'm going to have to start writing dream ideas down from movies, hmm who here from DreamViews could I use as a subject in a David Lynch film??

Oh hey, I'm a twisted pervert with a portable oxygen mask and a scissor fetish!

      Pick me!

I have to profess to being a huge David Lynch Geek (lol).

I've not seen Boxing Helena yet (it would be cool to watch that movie) I think it was directed by his daughter Jennifer Lynch (although i think she shares the same sensibility for 'weirdness').

I love the strange dream-like mood he brings to his movies, its like the world of Twin Peaks - it feels very unreal and all the characters seem to be in this insane yet bizarre world between 'reality' and dreams.

I like the idea of writing dream ideas down from movies (the possibilities are endless).

I think most of the *new* people on DreamViews could be used as a subject for a David Lynch film

      ----

The Straight Story is a brilliant conventional film, i love the idea of a guy making a journey on an lawn mower to visit his brother (lol).

The experience of watching Mulholland Dr. feels like a lucid dream - anyone seen that movie?

Sorry sephiroth clock, have to try and find a way to go full circle back to your Harry Potter experience

I didn't like Mulholland Drive, seemed like he was trying too hard. Lost Highway was terrific in the same vein, though. Especially cause the plot doesn't even work without allowing for an alternate reality or something. Lynch = the man.

That being said, Wild at Heart is still my favorite.

And wasn't like two thirds of Eraserhead dream sequences? It got hard for me to differentiate personally, cause I got bored with that one. But the title itself was from the main character's dream.

You have great taste in film!

So that's what Time Bandits is about? I've been reccomended that film since I like Terry Gilliam, now I must get that movie! Do you suppose Brothers Grimm will be any good? I loved the brothers grimm tales when I was a child.

oh whoops, on another note about the actual topic, hehe-
I never thought to try any harry potter stuff, I do like those books. I'm much more of a star wars fan though, and I like playing with the force in my dreams 8)

yes, my threads often seem to go off on tangents. What I think movies, literature, and other media sources are good for. are, picking what life I want to live when I reincarnate next. If this entire world is just a dream, we can create whatever we want, why not live in a Harry Potter existence next, or move into an exciting Jedi "life training and mission body. I really think this is possible, this is only a dream for a learning experience, our soul can experience anything it chooses. Harry potter is looking like a really fun option for my next life.
