Close to a lucid dream

This was pretty much my first attempt to actually have a lucid dream instead of simply trying to recall my dreams. Though my dream recall isn't all it should be yet, I decided to experiment if I could at least make something happen by willing to have a lucid dream. So I kept repeating to myself as I fall asleep "I want to have a lucid dream. I want to realize I'm dreaming.". The results... In a dream I saw myself, and a DC (it's all pretty fuzzy, I don't know who the DC was, just that it was a friend) near the university building where I study. For some reason, we both suddenly realized this was a dream. Yes, the DC too. But I didn't actually become lucid, because I was simply watching myself (or a DC version of myself) becoming lucid in my dream. Then the scene collapsed into another location (I realize now my dreams have a habit of collapsing into themselves when I change scenes... Could be a dreamsign for me), and me and my friend tried to do some stuff because we were lucid. I think we flew away, but I can't recall. Well, a dream about lucid dreaming is step one, isn't it?
