Was this my dream guide?

I took a nap today and had an unitentional LD. It was fascinating because there was this tiny fairy-like "thing" (had a beer belly) in my dream and I just bonded so quickly with it! When I talked to it, I asked if "it" knew it was in my dream or not. He replied yes then started talking to me. As he was talking I had a FA, but when I woke up in my bed he was sitting right next to me! I felt a strange sense of relief after I saw him next to me.This didn't register in my brain at the time so I didn't know it was a dream. Anyways my main questions are is it possible for a dream guide not to be a human? Also, Is it possible to find your dream guide unintentionally?

From my limited experience I would say yes, and yes. That your dream guide doesn't present itself to you as human does not mean that it isn't really human, at least in the important ways :p And the only time I met what I think was my dream guide it was completely unintentional and happened at the end of a very bazaar but then lucid dream. maybe the only way to know for sure is if you keep meeting him in your dreams and he acts as a guide in showing you something new about yourself or your dreaming ability.

My Dream Guide is a very old asian man, there is someone else on the forums whose dream guide is a dragon, another person's dream guide is a girl, etc. Your dream guide can take any shape or form. However you should probably ask "Are you my dream guide" and see what kind of answer you get that fairy may have been your dream guide or you may of just bonded really well with the Fairy DC you'll never know until you ask.

My dream guide is a woman and she has appeared to me twice but she appeared differently both times and I actually asked her if she will appear differently to me every time and she said yes.
