      Arg! So close!!

On friday night I had a dream and it started off with me talking with some guy. Then he said something to me, or asked me sumthin (I couldnt remember) and I thought, "Hey, I think i'm dreaming." Then Everything slowly faded to blackness before I had a chance to think about spinning.

The two nights after that I've had very clear dreams but that was the first time being somewhat lucid (if only for a second or two). Now i've started something where before I go to bed i repeat the word "spin" to myself alot before i go to sleep. All i need is another chance!

I find that the best time for myself to become lucid is in the morning. I usually go through one or more dreams during the night, and if I wake relatively early in the morning for a few seconds (I guess it's kind of a habit) and immediatly fall back asleep and immediatly return to a dream state, I find myself aware that I am dreaming.
When I first started lucid dreaming, I found that there was a delicate balance to maintain between awareness and dreaming. But the desire to LD more is what makes a prolonged experience possible.

YOUR ALMOST THERE! just keep it up, and find some way of increasing clarity. There are several ways, such as spinning(as you mentioned above), yelling commands aloud, pressing your hands together, or feeling the texture of the grass or something around you to increase PERCEPTIONAL AWARENESS...oh cool, i just came up with that i think...souds interesting! yay! anyway, good luck!

That's exactly like what my first lucid dream was like. I realized I was dreaming and I was actually very calm, but before I could do a single thing everything faded away.
It's like I was lucid but I didn't even realize it..
