      New and Confused

Well, I am obviously new to the forum. Honestly, I never had any interest in finding out how or why I am able to control certain aspects of my dreams. I only gained an interest at work today when we had a discussion on scary dreams. I made a comment about them not being so scary when you finally get to realize that you can control what happens next as soon as you realize that it is not reality. You should have seen the looks on my co-workers faces, it was as if the consept was way to new to them. That was when I realized my experiences were unique and was compelled to find others that I could share with. So, whenever any of you would like to share or have any questions for your newcomer, please feel free to chat back.[/b]

Welcome on board! Yes, that is quite a common occurance. Luckily though the word is getting out. I shared with three coworkers yesterday. One of them had even had quite a few lucid dreams and another had heard of a 'flashing set of goggles' that helped you control your dreams.

So, don't worry too much, you are not totally alone.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Ya I been sharing what lucid dreams are with a few of my friends surprizingly 3 of my good friends have them naturally but never knew what they were. Me on the other hand I stumbled upon the concept of lucid dreaming on the internet and I can only recall only having one prior to finding out about lucid dreams and techniques to induce them. So ya I'm not a natural like my friends are but since finding this site in particular I've improved the number of LDs I've had. But ya welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy yourself while you're here.

I talked to a colleague at work about LD and was surprised how interested she was and open to the idea . She was very envious that people were able to do this .
But what amazed me was that I had a rerun of the conversation in a dream that same night . It seemed that talking about LD's created a strong link between the waking and dream worlds . I talked to another colleague and was amazed ( and rather dubious ) at the amount of dream control he claimed to have . I find generally people are often keen to talk about their own dream experiences but not so willing to listen to others .
Also it is natural that people you are with all day tend to appear in your dreams but I never mention this to them as they might be offended or get the wrong idea (i.e. assume there is some sexual innuendo)

I talk about LDs with everyone I know. Some, like my friend scorpifly, had had LDs all his life, never knowing any other way to dream! Others simply refuse to believe that they exist, like its some sort of superstition. Most people are open to the idea nowadays, though. Oh yeah, and welcome to DV!

Thank you all. It was nice to hear that my experience wasn't the only irrational one. I think everyone I told was able to at least believe me. I just can't imagine why anyone wouldn't uderstand the concept. Why would anyone lie about it to begin with?

I appreciate you all treating me as the newcomer so welcomed. Thank you.
