First LD on eighth night trying

Hi everyone! (meaning: this is my first post on this forum! yay...)

I've been trying to LD for 8 nights now, and it has radically changed my nightlife. Normally I don't recall many dreams; maybe 1 or 2 every week, but by now the average has risen to 2 or 3... every night! I really didn't expect that kind of progress in such a small amount of time. But what really helps me stay focused on trying is the experience I had on the second night. I had my alarmclock set at 05:00, but I woke at 04:30. So I turned off the alarm, and started to relax, while I kept my head clear. (trying to WILD so soon?... I guess I'm just an ambitious guy) Before I knew it, I was seeing colors, and felt a vibrating sensation all over my body. I got very excited (a bit scared as well) and my heart rate skyrocketed, but that was as far as I went. Later on that night I got into it again, even a third time, but no LD.

To tell you the truth, I really didn't mind the failing. I felt things that night I had never felt before in my entire life, so I still consider it a success.

Last night I had my first LD. It was a DILD, had a low level of lucidity and was kind of short. It started out as quite a nightmare. Me and my family were on a train, fleeing for a strange virus or some kind of biochemical weapon. A poisonous cloud covered the northern part of the Netherlands (where I live), and was spreading quickly to the south. Somehow our train stopped and couldn't go any further, so we moved on by foot, soon to be cought up by the dangerous cloud. Well, it wasn't really a cloud anymore, because now it was moving underground. Everything that came in contact with the virus turned green. I saw my brother running in front of me, stepping on a green piece of sidewalk. A tile broke and the ground spew smoke, throwing him a few feet in the air, shouting "no!!". (actually, what he really said was 'nee!!', pronounced: 'nay!!'. It's the Dutch equivalent of the English 'no!!').

I found myself standing in a small, unfamiliar livingroom, knowing that my father died by the disease. It was killing everyone, including me. My mother was sitting in a vegetative state in a large chair by a window, staring at a post-apocalyptic world. She looked pale. I thought by myself how it was possible that I felt so incredibly sad, depressed; miserable. "I'm not supposed to be like this! I'm a happy person!" (it's true. I'm as happy and optimistic as a person can be). That's where I did my first RC ever! I pinched my nose, and breathed right through it. I felt relieved beyond measure. I finally knew that it was all a dream. Knowing that I wanted to comfort my mother, so I gave her a hug and a kiss on her cheek. After that I felt a sensation of walking up a staircase. Then I woke up.

I'm going to bed now. Ninth night of studying lucidity.

      Later.

Awesome! Congratulations on your quick progress. Now that you know what it feels like to be lucid, I'm sure it will be easier to repeat. Keep it up!
