      Newbie Questions...

Hello, and greetings everyone. I am new on this site, and I would like to say it is very interesting and informative. I have had lucid experiences before, but not with any consistency (in fact, only a few times total). I have started keeping a so called "dream journal", and have found that it helps tremendously with dream recall. Now I can wake up in the morning, and remember every last detail from a dream (actually, I can remember three or four distinctly separate dreams a night, on average). I have not yet attained lucidity, but have attained a somewhat altered state of consiousness during dreams. I am semi-aware of being in a state of unconsiousness, and oxymoronic as it sounds, but cannot yet become fully lucid. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, I have tried to share the web site with some people, and they have just dismissed it as some new-age bullshit, pardon my French. I have tried just even talking about it with people, and they think that it is ... yeah. Is there anyway that I can try to explain it to people without them becoming so skeptical about it? And what is OBE and Astral Projections, and why do some people on this forum dismiss it as nonsense? And as far as dream-sharing goes, is it possible? If it were possible for more than one person to "connect" in one dream, wouldn't that suggest some sort of telekinesis (sp?) or "spiritual world" in which people can connect thoughts?

Steven LaBerge has a new easy to use book that should help you in developing your skills (I'll provide the link at the end). As far as people are concerned, they think anything outside of the norm is always new-age bullshit because they are close minded. They dont want to learn and really don't care. I wouldnt waste your energy on folks who are not open anyway. If it was bullshit, why has there been so much research and successful tesing in lucid dreaming labs? Again, you don't have to prove shit to those close minded fools! There is a really good book also you could read on OBE/Projecting called Astral Dynamics (link below). It's a hard discussion to get into whether OBE are real or not. I know Lucidity Institute did some "Real time" viewing test with very little success with Lucid dreaming oneironauts but that's just one study. Some people think they are completely different, some feel OBE and Lucids have allot to do with each other. Again a heated debate. I think if your able to check out both books, ALL of your questions will be answered. Hope this sheds some light on the subject.
