      First lucid in sooooo long!

YAY! I woke up this morning to a happy yet dissapointing experience. I remember in my dream I was flying around, it was like a video game, I'm pretty sure there were other people flying too, and we were shooting at each other. Sorta like starfox, without the ships, just people flying around shooting. And every now and then the environment would change, like the server changin the level. Haha. I definately remember we were in multiple landscapes, but the only one I can clearly remember was space. At one point a death star from Star Wars even shot at me =D. I remeber flying and it was in another environment I thought to myself "Hey, I'm dreaming!...wait...I think this is just HI, nevermind." then thought nothing of it. I don't know why in the world I thought that. But then I wake up and I'm thinking "...no...that WAS a dream!! IT WASN'T HI!!! NOOOO!!!". Haha, I was kind of upset but I'm happy that I'm at least getting there . I was sooo close! It was definately a lucid, but a low-level lucid at that.

Any tips or pointers on how next time I can realize I'm actually dreaming easier, or will this just take time?

I don't know why I didn't think "Reality check!" but I was flying anyways, so you think that'd be an alarm going off. Nope.

It's the same advice you often hear.. get used to doing your reality checks when you're awake and they become easier when you aren't!

Flying is always great fun! I often have dreams that begin with flying and there's no reality check needed.. rather than flying around to see what happens, I decide where I want to go, and off I go at incredible speed.

I really believe that how you feel about the experience when you're awake translates over to how you'll feel when you're dreaming. I am comfortable with lucid dreaming when I'm awake, and that comfort carries over into my dreams. I've experienced LD's since childhood. Confusion gave way to fear.. fear gave way to apprehension.. apprehension gave way to curiousity.. curiousity gave way to experimentation.. and so on.

All right, cool. I think I just found my dream sign anyways with this lucid dream. I've had a few dreams that I could easily relate to being in a game, or I'd be playing a game in just the past week or so since I just started looking into this, so I figure my dreamsign is video games. That should make it alot easier to become lucid, as well as I'm going to use that lucid induction song thingy.

      Yay it's working!!!
