      MSN in your sleep

Ok, well I frequently take afternoon naps of about ten minutes or so, kind of in the vain hope that one day I'll become lucid. Anyway, recently I've found that I drift off to sleep fairly easily then kind of wake up - I'm aware of my body, except with my eyes closed. When this happens I get the 'clear eyelid' feeling and usually start to see weird stuff, usually it seems as if I'm looking at my computer screen.

Anyway, I keep on getting this thing where I can see my computer screen and I'm having a conversation to a friend on MSN. It's really strange - the other day I seemed to have a long conversation with a girl on msn, can't remember exactly what we were talking about but it must have been interesting. Another strange thing about it was that I kind of knew it was just a dream, and that I couldn't be talking to her but it didn't seem to matter. It was as if I was talking to her on a dream-internet or something weird.

So I dunno, maybe it's just HI I'm getting, with the whole clear-eyelid thing. I was aware of my body still and I kind of tried to make myself lucid from it but couldn't seem to. I never get HI normally, so maybe this is finally it, who knows? It was bloody fun talking to people on msn though.

If you cant remeber what you where talking about, go into your chat logs. I think MSN keeps a log of conversations. If not then next time copy and paste to word b4 you wake up next time

      HAHA I've done that alot!

I've had alot of msn and DV chats in my dreams, though it's usually during HI like you said

What'll happen is I'll start an HI phase, then begin chatting with whoever I'm chatting with the most lately, which wakes me back up again because it freaks me out or something

HAHA one time I was dreaming about chatting with someone, and my cell phone started ringing, but in my sleep I thought it was the sound of the IM windows popping up, until I woke up completely and could tell that it was my cell phone

geez, do we chat too much????????

I read that in your dreams you cant look at the same word twice..It always changes, kinda like the digital watch's or the light switch. Must only happen to some people im assuming.

it's true that it happens alot, but it's not an absolute

sometimes I dream of some words in a book or on screen or numbers on a clock and they keep changing, which is a good dream sign to help you attain lucidity, but sometimes I can read a word over and over again and it stays the same

It depends on the person. I love to read and write and when I look at text it's realtively easy to read. I haven't read things twice very often, though I will say that when I look at digital clocks more than once they usually do change. I wonder if it's just my affinity for printed text that makes it easier to read.

      Oh well.

I had something Similar while I was in school. I laid my head down on the desk and sleept for about 20-35 Minutes. I woke up and kept my eyes closed and page appeared. ( Thats usualy how I read. Lay me head down with the book beneath it) I can remember exactly what It said, the words were distorted, but I read on for a minute or two...until my teacher fwapped me.

Same here. I read fairly often in dreams, and the text usually makes sense for the most part, although I don't usually try to read something more than once. There may be a few minor oddities, though, such as new words that don't exist in real life that I automatically understand as if they've always existed (usually they're synonyms for existing English words), or certain words may have a totally different meaning from in real life. When I wake up, I usually don't remember what exactly it said, although I may have an idea of maybe a phrase or sentence or two.
