I wanted to wake up from an LD!

      Hi all,

As a newbie here, i probably should have told something about me in the Newbie Forum. However, i wanted to introduce myself by sharing my most incredible lucid dream, that happened to me last summer-holiday. I am a Dutch man, 26 years old. I allready told the story on a Dutch forum, but i guess it was too long for most visitors to read. Therefore i will cut the part of the dream i obtained lucidity.

I do have to tell something about what happened in real life on the night of the dream. Me and my friends had had a pleasant night with some girls we met on our holiday, and we had agreed that the girls would wake us up the next day by coming to our appartments at around 10 o'clock. They were quite nice and we also had a little chit-chat about dreaming, having wet dreams, and also lucid dreaming, so it might not be surprising that i'm going to tell about a dream in which these girls also appeared.

Everything was going great in my dream, and before i obtained lucidity i dreamed of having sex with one of them. After that things were starting to get weird, a lot of strange things happened after each other, and all of a sudden i realised i was dreaming! Absolutely terrific, because that doesn't happen to me very often. But, at one moment it stroke me that earlier on i probably had had a wet dream, and that any moment the girls could stand at my bed-side in real life! How embarassing that would be!! I had to wake up! And quick!!

As i never expected wanting to wake up from a lucid dream, i didn't know what to do. I asked some of my friends for help, but they were laughing. They were making a fool of me, this was all their idea! I was desperate, asked everybody for help, but didn't get any useful answers. I knew i was dreaming and therefore could do whatever i want, but what would help to wake me up?! I banged my head at the table, several times, just to do something unexpected, no result. I was desperate as hell, but my friends still were just laughing at me. So in the end i gave up. I told my friends i knew what was going to happen. There would be knocking on the door of the room i was in, and when opening the door in my dream, the girls would also stand at our door in real life. "Let's get this over with", i said, and walked to the door to open it myself. All of a sudden my friends were screaming "No!! No!! it's not supposed to happen allready!!". Alright then, i thought, i will get back. 'Rewind'. I was walking back to my seat, backwards, while making the noice you hear rewinding a videotape.

And that was the key. Rewinding was too much for my dream imagination, my dream couldn't cope with it. Everything started to twist before my eyes, i started seeing flashes of the room i was sleeping in, and i woke up very, very relieved. It was still very early in the morning, i didn't have a wet dream, but my god what a relief it was. But of course, after a few minutes, i could really enjoy the way my dream had tricked me. Man, what an experience. Don't you think?!

Sounds like fun. It sucks when you get lucid, and think you should wake up, then upon awakening realize that you don't need to. Ah, the tricks our minds play...

Altering the flow of time in a dream has got to be one of the coolest things to do. Think of what you could do if you slowed down time to nearly a standstill for everyone except yourself. That could be lots of fun.

Good luck on more lucid dreams!
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

I guess it happens many times that while you are lucid in your dream there are still things happening that you can't control, or better: you don't realise you actually can control them. Therefore still awkward things happen in your lucid dream, and after waking up you think of how stupid it was you didn't simply took control over them.
In this dream it was different. I fully realised in what kind of a situation I was. I just didn't know how to wake up. (Can't think of another situation where I wanted to wake up from an LD.) When I woke up, I didn't feel stupid about believing things that were actually so obviously unreal. The basic story, it could have happened!

I rewind time in my dreams alot. Mostly though when I screw something up and want another chance to do it. Or if I really liked something that happened and want to do it again.
My dreams are alot like movies..it's like..Take 2! Everyone back to their original position!!
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. You have a right to be here. And whether or not it it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
