My First, yet advice is needed!

Ok, my friend who is a memer of this site has beem telling me the wonders of lucid dreaming, and would always tell me stories, such his dream guides, flying etc. And I serioussly thaought it to be some joke. That when I started studying it thouroughly. And yesterday i just started practicing. I went to bed, chanting to myself "When I awake I will completely remember my dreams" and thats the last thing I fell asllep on. Then I remember doing a reality check by plugging my nose and trying to breathe through it. It worked. I was so extatic, I tried it over and over agin. And the boom! i woke up. I then tried a RC, and it didnt work. I then remebered bieng lucid got very drowzy, and the last thing i remember was telling my self i would remember my dream. The suddenly I fell Asleep again. And had a normal dream that wasnt lucid. i awoke and remembered it. This was my first experiance, and real first time trying lucidity and it worked for a moment. Any advice or comments on my first attempt would be very appreciative.
      Thanks,
      M-Red

Good job -- and welcome to DreamViews!

Now that you know what it feels like to become lucid, it should be easier to do again. And hopefully you'll be able to stay a little more calm next time so that you don't wake up right away. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I hope that I'll have another. All day I have been squaring my thought upon Lucidity, so it will be easier tonight. And the more research Ive been doing has helped me out. Tonight I now know to be more calm. Ill start basic. I really hope I get this. It's one of the most interesting, and Incredible things ive got my self into. thanks for the great site.

Woohoo! Glad I had an influence on you, M. We should keep in touch on msn and talk about our dreaming experiences. Ahhh, it feels good to have a friend who agrees with me on lucid dreaming and isn't ridiculing me like your cousin (Jessica). Jk. She just isn't too enthusiastic about it whenever i tell her i have a lucid dream. Oh and thanks for getting that book for me i'll pay you back on Saturday.

The best, overall, advice I could give ya would be to take a look at the tutorial sections. You can find a lot of information there. Starting a dream journal is gonna prove to be one of the best things you've ever done. So get to it. Hehe.

Other than that, if you figure out any specific questions, feel free to pm or start a thread.
