      Scary encounter with my mirror.

      Well,
I realized I was dreaming when I was standing in my hallway. I walk into the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. To my horror my mouth was sealed shut and my face and head was buldging in and out like jello hit with a baseball bat. I tried rubbing my hands together and tried willing myself to a new location to no luck. When I looked at my hands they were knotted together and my knuckles were white as if I was squeezing as hard as possible. Then I hunched over convulsing..this is when I awoke.(and thought that was some crazy sh@t)

Re-telling it kinda makes me feel funny.

Well, wretching and vomitting is a bit much, but appearing sick or distorted in one's dreams seems to be a common motif. I believe that it is the way our Higher Dream Mind has of trying to convince us not to be so fixated in our identification with our Body Image.

I think we are supposed to work toward evolving our Image of ourselves toward a more spiritual quality. For instance, in one of my recent Lucid Dreams, when I looked down at my hands, instead of being distorted or disfigured lumps of flesh, they were small and ethereal webbed crosses -- really not hands anymore at all, but more like some kind of antenna transmitters or receivers of Spiritual Energy.

Wow that tip sucked. It's not like mirrors are reflexions of hell or something. They're a part of your dream as any other object you may find in them is, so don't avoid it but rather, embrace it. I've been perfectly normal in dream mirrors and aside from that, as Leo pointed out, it would be pretty useless to assume that the reflexion of yourself in the dream mirror is merely random.

I guess I won't worry about it and will just keep going. I seem to have more dreams where I realize I'm dreaming but do things for reasons I can't remember, such as looking in the mirror. Only occasionally do I have real control

I believe your panic lead to the spiral of problems which eventually woke you up. Next time you find yourself in a situation like this make sure you are firmly grounded in the fact it is all a dream.

      >Nerte: It helps ground yourself within the dream. Since the sense of touch is usually the last sense to go it is a reliable way to hold your attention where you want it (in the dream)
