      Another 'My First Lucid' Thread

      Hi.
I've been interested in lucid dreams for about a month, but wasn't having huge success. I've been quite diligent with my RCs, and was frustrated when the 'finger-palm' test failed me during a short dream.
Last night, I tried one of those lucid dreaming mp3s, but I was still awake when I should have been in deep sleep so I stopped the mp3 and rolled over. I entirely forgot about lucid dreaming and eventually fell asleep.
I woke up again, and looked at my watch 11:00 (geez, I slept in), I looked again 11:40 I checked once more, and it was 11:33. I thought to myself, 'I must be dreaming!'. I got out of bed and walked over to the landing, and attempted to move a pack of cards by telekinesis, but failed, after which I woke up.
The thing that I found wierd (but logical) about my LD was that, although I knew it was a dream, it felt 100% real. Everything was vivid, and I remember thinking, this is almost too real to be a dream. It felt to me as if I had done an RC in real life, which told me that I was dreaming, but was being told from all angles (even myself) that I was in reality.

Anyway, i'm pretty happy I finally had a lucid (even though it was only a tiny amount of lucidity), and I hope to learn more about LDing soon

I also have an odd feeling that posting here will start a dry spell , but I sure hope not.

Congratulations on the lucid dream. They do seem very real. About a month ago or so, I was dreaming I was in a bookstore and thought to do a reality check; my RC was to read the title of a book and then look back. The title changed, but because the dream was so real, I did not believe I was dreaming. I told myself that something strange was happening, but it wasn't a dream. It was weird (and frustrating) when I later woke up and remembered the dream. I could not force myself to accept it as a dream.

It's funny how before you've experienced a lucid, you think to yourself 'all I need to do is RC, then it'll be easy'. You assume that as soon as lucidity comes, you can do anything because you know you're dreaming. The problem is that dreams are designed to replicate the world very well, and rejecting the world as a fantasy is very difficult.
Imagine if someone told you that you were dreaming....right now. It would be hard to comprehend that everything you are experiencing is unreal. That is how the lucid felt to me.

      Follow up:
Night before last I had my second lucid , and I tried some object levitation.

I was watching TV with my family. We had just paused it and I went out into the kitchen and did an RC against the Kitchen Clock. After, I realised I was dreaming. My first thought was to run outside and start flying, but then I thought that my parents would be waiting for me to un-pause the TV (stupid me). So I went into another room, and telekinetically picked up a pencil. I used my usual two fingers, but did not touch the pencil; it took quite a bit of concentration. I then held the pencil in my left hand (along with a pack of others that had appeared) and tried to move it about a foot to the right into my other hand. It moved about half way, hovered a bit, then fell to the floor. I couldn’t concentrate hard enough. I then walked upstairs and decided to do another RC. Conveniently, an oversized, floating detergent bottle was nearby for me to read, however I don’t remember the text changing. I woke up after this.

I was happy that I'd had another lucid, but a little annoyed that I was still asleep enough to care about DCs.
