      Lucid Nightmare?

The other night i attempted to MILD and had very little results.. Recalling no dreams except one which i awoke from. All that I can remember is hearing the sounds of an oncoming train feeling strong vibrations and falsly awakening in pain. In the false awakening I went to the bathroom to splash water on my face when I heard the whistle of a train nearby. Is it possible to have lucid nightmares?

      Yes

Oh good yes, lucid nightmares are completely possible. I gave up trying to lucid dream for years because of lucid nightmares. They just kept getting worse. I was running out of dream skills to survive. I would wake up exausted. I didn't even want to sleep. I'm still scared. My dreams are the only thing I really fear. It is terrible. I hope you don't have this problem. If you do, remember to write me directly. I could tell you of the things I was able to do to survive. Maybe you'll be smarter and figure out something new.

hmm, wel I've never had that experience but I would recomend, if possible, either ignore or fight the thing in your dream. In a LD one time I was ambushed by gang members, I KNEW I was dreaming, still, I was scared but I ignored them, and they didn't go away, so I fought them. Also, if worsed comes to worsed, you can always wake up, but what fun is that? NOTE: I have no real idea about these things, I'm just saying things that make sense to me, they might not be of any real help to any one.
Now we know what happens to today when it becomes yesterday... It waits for them... the timekeepers of eternity!

That depends on how you define the word "nightmare." I look to dreams for inspiration and I'm willing to listen to anything they have to say--positive or negative. Having said that, if one is truly lucid within a dream, what is there to fear? Any danger is merely perceived. Any pain implied. Any terror incomplete.

To a degree, dreams may afford one what they truly desire. Perhaps you enjoy being terrified? I know my greatest dreaming pleasure is to be chased, stabbed, or bitten. Experiencing dreaming death can be a deeply spiritual experience. In the end, that's why a nightmare can be so unnerving to some--the fear of death and the instinct for self-preservation. You've only to remind yourself that dreaming death and waking death are two completely individual things.

P.S. Keep in mind; a train typically represents a direction or line of thought in the dream world. Pain denotes disharmony, warning, or the inability to love or let go. Does any of this hit home?
