Thread: Lucidity becoming more frequent...

I usually have a lucid dream every seven days, like clockwork. But, today was only five days from my last lucid dream, and I had two. Do your lucid dreams seem to be speeding up? I know I've only had one episode of this increase, but it's what I've been striving for, so I have to hope that it is a trend.

are you on any medication? Did you skip a night of sleep somewhere in those five days? I have think these things may have been a factor in my 4 LDs in one night the other day. I only had one this weekend, rather this morning. Very breif buy good. I did dream alot this weekend, but not Lucidly.

Come to think of it, I did have some screwed up sleeping patterns in the last five days. I had fall break this week, which means a four day weekend, and took a lot of shrooms in that time. I don't think that kind of lifestyle will be good for me though, not to simply increase my lucid dreaming. I wish there was a natural way to do it. Something in addition to the regular techniques we all use.

Shrooms are awesome. They are natural. I wouldn't eat them everyday, but have a few times. Pure clean fun. But I didn't have any lucid dreams on them. I have heard that Melintonin (I think that's the spelling) and ambien work great for inducing REM. You used to be able to Melinonin over the counter, but people started developing dependencies (they couldn't sleep without them) so I think they took it off the market. I'm not sure. But if you can still buy it, Melintonin is a natural substance our bodie produces to help us sleep. I'm really enjoying the lucidity I've been experiencing lately. This morning was so bizarre when I knew my snooze alarm was going to go off and wake me up in the middle of what was going to be an awsome dream. How can our minds work like that. I literally picked up my clock (only in my dream) to turn it off....but I was struggling....it was almost like I was confused...I knew I was dreaming, and I knew the clock was going to go off again in 5 minutes, but yet I still tried to turn off my "dream" clock not realizing it was not going to turn off the real clock....does that make any sense.

That does make sense. Dream logic is some crazy shit. What I would like to do, is know that my alarm clock is going off and tune it out if I'm in a lucid dream and keep dreaming for as long as possible.

It's melotonin. And far as I know, they can't take it off the market because it's a chemical that is already natural occurring in the brain. I could be wrong though. Last time I checked, you could get it at GNC, local pharmacist, etc.

you aren't an expert after ONE LD. i'd say an expert would be one who lucid dreams at will, wakes at will, and has FULL control.

I'd agree with paperdoll. I'd consider the skill gradient to go something like, beginner, novice, skilled, expert, master with all kinds of in-betweens.

Hah! That sounds like a cop out. Anyway, I think it takes a while of consistent lucid dreaming to earn such category. For example, I don't know where I would fall in this but I have about one LD per week, with full control about 50% of the time, and partial control the other 50%.

BTW, by partial control, I don't mean low-level lucidity. I mean I can jump high, but not fly. Or ooze half way into a wall, but not thru.

Then theres me, I LD whenever my head hits the pillow I remember most all of them too but I only have limited control, I cannot wake up, and have to abide by rules that my subconsious seems to set in the dream world i am in and I cannot create from nothing, which I would really like to give a shot at, playing god would be kinda fun

I still think im a novice Got a long ways before I woulde ever call myself an expert mebbby when i can put myself into a meditative trance and lucidly dream at will whenever I wish

Sorry, did I indicate I was an expert somewhere? I am no expert. I haven't had any LDs in the past two nights. I think that night I had the 4 dreams in one night was a bizzare exception. I was just a lucky, happy, but stressed out person.

I didn't actually say I was an expert (or you rich) but I just said I felt like I was.

What would it take to be a master lucid dreamer? Besides having more than one hundred posts on this forum.

I think being able to become lucid in every dream and have a huge range of skills, some of which may be unique.

Also being able to remember every single one of your dreams. It also means that the dreams should be as real or more real than real life .

HAAHAHAHAHAHHAH, man that is so funny. Ok, so I was reading what you wrote(about the shrooms), and I SWEAR, before I even glanced over to the left and saw you were from colorado, i automatically said, I bet this guys from colorado. Haha, im from Golden, Colorado, about a half hour from Boulder or Denver, maybe youve visited? I had to let you know I knew you were from colorado the second I saw shrooms, what a small world.

Im from Long island and we call em shrooms there, since I moved to newengland they also call em shrooms.

But then again everything spreads out of NY and everyone copies it

well i think its a fact that colorado has the highest use of marijuana of all the states, or atleast its somewhere around the top. im not sure about shrooms, but i know at my school atleast 3/4 of all the kids have tried shrooms and/or are regular pot smokers. so based on that i assumed he was from CO when he said shrooms, not because he called it that, just based on what i know. And I was right, so I just thought it was a funny coencidence is all.

Hey Liquid! Yeah, I've been to Golden a few times. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Coors Brewery and North Table are right there. It's a beutiful city. It reminds me of a small-town Boulder.

Yeah, I've also heard that about Colorado being one of the highest pot-using states. I think it's because it's decriminalized here. Some states they'll arrest you and take you to jail for even a little pot. Here a cop might just make you dump it out, and if not, you'll get about $200 in fines and court costs for possession of less than an ounce (more than an ounce is of course intent to distribute, which is way bad).

Yes the Coors Brewery is here! You should take the tour sometime, free beer I have read that about weed too, there not as strict about it here. I just got an idea, an experienced lucid dreamer out there should try taking different drugs in the dream world, i wonder what the effects are.

I bet they would be exactly the same, or more intense than in real life.

In fact, I have tripped in my dreams. It was pretty cool.

Ive had a few dreams where I felt drunk or had couchlock


not fun... my mind was working correctly so it sucked it was like my body was not following my instructions... It could have been that I was not totaly in the dream world though...

I had one dream a while ago where I felt this, and when I realised I was dreaming I relaxed, I was up high on some wooden beams, and was terrified I was gona fall because I felt drunk... well once I realised as I said I relaxed and let myself fall.... it was a very liberating and good feeling, I fell into the void and just sat there for a while in thought

Once I was sitting on the edge of a cliff with my back facing the drop. I leaned back forgetting that I was on a cliff and slipped and was holding onto this slippery, slopey rock. I thought, this can't be happening, I would never be this careless in real life. Then I thought, Ahah! And let go. It took me one moment longer than fearlessly letting go so it was a little frightening, but the thrill was amazing.
