You cant get excited in a ld? Uh, ok....

Doesnt it kind of defeat the purpose that you cant get excited in lucid dreams? How are you supposed to do the things that you enjoy without waking up? ie. having a super pumped battle with someone or getting a rush off of flying. How fun is it if you have to do these things without letting it excite you?

I don't remember reading anywhere that you CAN'T get excited in a lucid dream. I have had many LD's in which I have been excited and exhilirated. I think what you have misunderstood is that too much excitement can cause you to wake up. This is just a guideline for people new to Lucid Dreaming - Once you have become used to LD's you can control the level of excitement in order to prolong LD's - This doesn't mean that there is no excitement.
      Are you dreaming or awake?

I don't think I have read anything that says you cannot get excited. That's what it's about. However, if you get sooo excited in an LD, you might wake up. Controling your excitment is a very big part of LDing, as if you get too ahead of yourself at first, you ruin the whole dream. As I said, nobody ever said that excitment itself was bad.

I deffinately can get excited in an LD, trust me!!

I can even get tired in my dream.

Just last night I had a lucid but with no control that I was at work falling asleep at my desk.

My manager spotted me and shouted something (I knew it was a dream so I wasn't bothered) but I just couldn't wake myself up and I ended up dropping on the floor and I carried on sleeping.

This brought with it an over whelming sense of tiredness, a bit like when your alarm goes off in the morning and all you want to do is sleep some more. It was well weird.

So that is two of the emotions / feelings I have experienced in a dream, a few others worth noting are fear, vertigo and euphoria.
      The Sandman is near.

When you first start you tend to think to much if you get exited. It's all about focus and not starting to think to much... I have had lucid dreams where I have taken ecstasy... If that’s not excitement I don’t know what is...

Wrong... You can get as exited as you want... But the more exited the easier it is for your thoughts to start running in different directions... As soon as your mind gets scattered you wake up... People usually start to think to much when something exciting is happening... It's all about practice and going with the flow... Just nudging the dream in the direction you want to go. Personally I don’t even go for control anymore. At least not at this stage. My best lucid dreams have been just exploring what my mind has to show... Totally mind blowing…
