      Very weird lucid...

I had a ludid last night, and it just seemed like i was fighting to keep myself dreaming, not just lucid. I could feel my eyes being tired, even though i was dreaming. Now, in the lucid, i could only create dark/night environments, and sometimes i had to strain VERY hard to get anything but blackness.

I tried flying, which i have been able to do before, but the most i could do was sort of jump higher than normal, but not take off completely. I had several false awakenings, and i busted all of them with the finger through hand method.

I've been running on 5-6 hours of sleep each night all week, and i didn't really expect to dream at all last night. Is there anything that would be strange about this dream besides the lack of sleep?

5-6 hours is plenty of time to have two significant REM sleep periods, so i wouldn't say that the lack of sleep was responsible for the strangeness of your dream... It seems you simply didn't have much control, and only a low level of consciousness, which would explain the lack of visual clarity and overall coherence.
Have you tried the WBTB method yet? Don't give up!
