      More dreams then normal

I'm new here, introducted myself a couple days ago. But last night and the night before, I've been remembering parts of dreams more vividly then normal and normally its like parts of 2 dreams when I normally only remember one. Is it possible that just by my reading all this stuff and thinking about it that it might be effecting how well I rememeber my dreams? Oh and one more thing, in one of my dreams I specifically remember myself saying "I'm in a dream" but thats the only part of the dream I remember.

Absolutely! Here's the thing about dream recall: it takes a conscious effort to "dig up" the memories from a dream. It's not as easy as remembering what you ate for dinner last night. That said, the reason that most people have little or no dream recall is simply because they aren't trying hard enough to remember them (In most cases, anyway; sometimes even experienced dreamers have difficulty recalling their dreams). It's very likely that discovering this site has got you motivated enough to make a stronger effort to recall your dreams- this appears to be the case .

By the way, if you want to improve your recall even more, start a dream journal to record your dreams in every morning upon awakening.

Congratulations, you most likely had a lucid dream! It's unfortunate that you can't remember more of it. While it is possible that you could have been in some kind of situation in your dream that caused you to mindlessly utter the phrase "I'm in a dream," that's not really very likely. Also, the fact that that is the only part of the dream that you remember indicates that it was more "profound" to you than the rest of the dream- and let's face it, realizing that everything around you is a dream constructed by your own mind is a pretty profound experience . So basically, I think it's safe to count that as your first lucid dream (at least since discovering this site). It may have been a bit anticlimactic, but most people's firsts are.

When I found this site I didn't join until about a year later.

Meanwhile, I was reading through the info here and yes, my dream recall jumped from remembering 1 or 2 dreams every couple of days to being able to recall 1 or 2 dreams nightly.

After I actually joined and started participating in the forum a bunch of further things happened. Things that ranged from sharpening of dream recall to finally breaking my life long curse of waking up nightly in sleep paralysis.

And since joining and participating it's much easier for my dreaming self to access the DV info I have stored in my brain. Interaction with the forum has benifitted my dreaming and waking thought processes in many positive ways. Hopefully you'll continue to have positive results too.

Oh, welcome to Dream Views, by the way.
      Good luck catching your dreams.
