I just woke up a few minutes ago from an unexpected experience. I don't know how spectacular it was is the realm of lucid dreams but it felt pretty good.
There was a large Possum that came through an upper vent on my wall. At first it sat calm looking around but started to get hostile after it appeared scared to jump. I started walking around my room looking for a weapon or something to get it down with. While I was doing this I had a epiphany: what would I do if this actually happened? I was suprised for once I kept a rational (and realistic) mindset this completely odd situation. I looked back up to the possum and it was playing with an orange striped cat...which was floating beside.
Still not sure if this was what I thought it was, I took a cue from "waking life" and tried to turn the lights on, no luck.
Basically I started off doing some of the cliche things like trying to fly, ending up on my face. So I took notice to several changed details such as produce stickers on the apples not even plucked from trees yet, my boorish roomate driving by and not stopping, and the environment looked more like an urban rain forest than anything. I ended up going to mcdonalds and ordering two hamburgers but the manager with mop in hand couldn't understand me, so he gave me a glass of ice water (which he drank out of). The manager on a powertrip was complaining about the legalities of open containers which turned out to be pepsi cans with holes cut in the sides.
Unfortunately I got a phone call and woke up but I hope this wasn't a one time thing. I was suprised it happened as I haven't thought about lucid dreaming in months.
