      Half-Lucid Dream

I had it a few nights ago, and I guess it's worth mentioning.

I woke up in the middle of the night. I did a quick reality check and asked myself if I was sleeping. I then went right back to sleep and right away realized I was in a dream. It hardly lasted long at all, and all I got to do was spin around and jump. It then faded and went into another dream where I dreamt I woke up and remembered that I had just had a lucid dream.

I guess that's what happens when you lose lucidity? At least it's progress

Yep, at least it's a step in the right direction! Keep up the good work

      Thanks

This "Reality Check" technique really seems to work. What's your favorite technique, Burns?

I rely on my common dreamsigns and themes that I find from keeping my dream journal.

For example, just this morning I was dreaming I was late for work (which is one of my common dream-themes) and I looked at a digital clock and it said 12:45, then I looked at the analog clock and it said 2:10, then I looked at my wristwatch and it said 10:40! I remember telling myself that clocks not matching in times is another common dreamsign and I became lucid! I almost lost it, but I closed my eyes and took a breath to stabilze the dream, and then was fine. I don't think the lucidity lasted very long, but that was a perfect example of utilizing your personal common dreamsigns to attain lucidity!

And other times I just spontaneously become lucid for no reason at all.

The trick is to find what works for you and go with it!

Thanks! I'm going to do RC's for now on. They really seem to work.

By the way, I love cats too hehe. I'd be asleep already, but one of my cats (I have 2) is lying on my pillow. Gotta go wake him up since it's my turn to sleep now

Wish me luck, and thanks again
